Last time I tried it there was no view library like Winamp. Nope. At that point just use VLC or MPV.
- Comment on New Crazy Taxi Game Will Be Live Service with a '100-Person Survival Mode' 8 months ago:
It's average. Which is about the same I feel for the original Crazy Taxi.

Doesn't matter. Mile High Taxi already superseded Crazy Taxi. Just play that.

And then just go PGP if you want even more security.
- Comment on Disco Elysium standalone expansion reportedly cancelled and quarter of staff facing redundancy at ZA/UM 8 months ago:
I've tried several games like it. Arcanum being one of the most similar but I just can't get into that style, no matter how many times I've tried lol. Same reason I won't play Planescape: Torment. Just not for me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

- Comment on Disco Elysium standalone expansion reportedly cancelled and quarter of staff facing redundancy at ZA/UM 8 months ago:
The whole thing is such a clusterfuck. I've never played it but I can sympathize with how the fans have been jerked around.

More like evil clippy.

Ehn, one can survive pretty long with a stable distro.

I'm pretty sure there's a term for it. Google did it with shopping and images, Instagram changed the home button with some advertising thing (dont remember the exact details).
- Comment on Recommendations for Pirate Games? 9 months ago:
I like Raven's Cry but it is a janky game so be warned.
- Comment on Everything about TOML format - Orchard Dweller 9 months ago:
Wow. I've never used yaml or even looked at it but damn that is horrid. Why do people even use this? JSON and XML are so better.

- Comment on Baldur’s Gate 3 boss says gamers don’t want mass subscriptions 10 months ago:
Not to mention the sheer amount of amazing indie games coming out lately. Why even check out this gacha and subscription games?
- Comment on Their Songs Were Stolen by Phantom Artists. They Couldn’t Get Them Back. | Bad Dog, a group from D.C., was forced to take a crash course in streaming fraud, a shadowy realm that costs musicians $2b/yr 10 months ago:
This is actually way more common than people think. Lotta people think in order to upload music to streaming you need some label connection. Not the case. Just find a distributor like Symphonic, upload and wait for streams. Hope these guys can get their recumpence.

Looks amazing so far. Definitely one of the few games I'm actually hyped for next year.

Same. The highlight of this game for me was the 5 minute conversation I had with a co-worker about it. Good times.

You'll be fine. Just dont visit shady websites and do fall victim to phishing. The other comments in the thread are good advice too.

Theres a reason nobody uses it anymore. Google extended the crap out of it, effectively took over the protocol and then retired it. It bears the same echoes of what's happening here.

I'd be closer to agreeing with you if XMPP didn't completely invalidate your point. They did it there and they'll do it here.

Is threads still even active? The few users I knew on it don't use it anymore.

Was bluesky ever intended to have activitypub support?
- Comment on The international web standards organization W3C is no longer active on X/Twitter and has directed all their followers to Mastodon. 11 months ago:
They allowed for the inclusion of DRM into HTML5. This DRM is not open-source, can't even be source audited and refused to back down. Such a move caused the EFF (electronic frontier foundation) to resign from the group. Here's the EFF's letter where they outline these issues if you want to give it a read: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2017/09/open-letter-w3c-director-ceo-team-and-membership
I could also write about them bowing to Google but the DRM thing annoys me more.

Oh so I have absolutely no reason to even like w3c at all? Dont use w3cschools much anymore these days. I know they have other stuff for more languages but theres better resources when it comes to those.

Oh yeah. Forgot that exists. Their image-border generator was far better than the w3c equivalent.

Yeah screw the w3c. Only use they got these days is for html tutorials.
