  I’m not sure about 3G, but VoLTE (voice over LTE) is VoIP.

  Everything in the config file has an env var you can set. The most important one is the PICTRS__SERVER__API_KEY

  Yeah, same. I felt bad recommending it as “average” episode, but it checks all the other boxes. Still, it’s a fun, easy episode to just drop into without needing any background info besides “They’re on a long journey home, and then this happens”.

  “The Void” is definitely a solid choice, too. Teamwork and Federation principles save the day, a little action, and a first contact.

  Reasons:

  1. It’s got a double double-cross plot
  2. It’s traditional in the “alien of the week” format.
  3. Janeway and Inspector Kashyk have excellent chemstry
  4. Hefty abuse of the pattern buffer
  5. Basically a self-contained episode that’s largely confined to the ship

  I run a Nextcloud server and use DavX5 on my phone to sync my contacts and calendars over WebDAV. Works great.

  If Nextcloud is more than you need, you might try Radicale which just does CalDAV and CardDAV.

  I’m immediately suspicious of anything that says “earn crypto rewards”.

  I just use Searx-NG as my meta search engine, and it’s been pretty good.

  There’s another self-hosted actual search engine (with its own dataset + crawler) but I forget its name off the top of my head. I’ve been looking into setting that up to experiment with.

  What format does it get converted into? Can you post a link that you got back (even in the comments)?

  Each instance can configure pict-rs (the media subsystem, basically) a number of different ways or even disable videos entirely (or convert them to gifs, etc).

  Reading that post, they’re clearly judging Lemmy as a whole based on .ml and/or grad. Which, to be fair, they have a point. I really feel .ml as the “flagship” instance (official or just de-facto) is doing more harm to the overall “Reddit-like” corner of the fediverse than good.

  I think it was to get around embargoes? This was probably early 2000s so she was buying stuff at like Circuit City/Walmart/etc and shipping it off.

  My aunt did.

  She got suspicious when her online companion kept asking her to buy stuff and ship it. She didn’t catch on immediately, and the family had to explain to her she was doing something illegal and that it was a scam (even though he was reimbursing her).

  (She later did remarry a non-scammer, so happy ending I guess).
