It took having a kid for me to realize that I really needed something like that. There was a point when I realized that the things that a screaming baby did to my brain were not typical or something I could just power through.I keep a set of noise cancelling ear buds with me *everywhere.* They are so useful for just turning the volume down when I get overstimulated.
