There's a preliminary check that Friendica performs when searching by URL: it sends a short test request (HEAD) and decides based on the response format whether fetching the post is worthwhile. This exact check fails on lemmy.ca. The instance responds with a 404 and no format information at all. It could be caused by a reverse proxy in front of the server, or by other firewall/protection systems.

lemmy.today, by contrast, cleanly responds with "200 and ActivityPub format".

As a result, Friendica reports "no results", even though fetching the post itself works fine.

Danke für die Info und den input. Den /stats-Endpoint kannte ich bisher gar nicht und kann diesen bei mir auch nicht nutzen.
Hab mir deshalb einen eigenen Munin-User in der DB angelegt, der nur Lesezugriff auf die workerqueue-Tabelle hat, und ein kleines Plugin gebaut:

@tux Ja, ist gefahrlos. Weil die beiden Domains geblockt, sind alle offenen Zustellversuche an sie eh zwecklos.

Wenn Du mariabackup nimmst, dann mach halt fix ein backup der db.

Du hast völlig recht dabei, aber es hat geholfen, einen Stolperstein beiseite zu tun.
Jetzt könnte man es ändern in:

Ok, die Schnell-"Lösung" war also keine.
Ursache war ein General-Relay, das defekte Activities geliefert hat.

Der Server liefert defekte/ungültige ActivityPub-Daten, die JsonLD::compact() zum Absturz bringen. Bei jedem Retry steigt retrial.

Schnell-"Lösung" bei uns: Serverblock und in mysql gelöscht.

du brauchst nicht zwingend überall einen Account, vieles geht auch ohne, doch es kommt dabei natürlich auf den Betreiber an.

Die Ergebnisse, die Dich interessieren, gibst Du dann in Deinem Friendica oben ins Suchfeld ein und dann kannst Du damit interagieren und es ist dadurch für Dich lokal geworden. Ja, anfangs ein wenig umständlich.
