“No, I mean you actually can’t, it destroys the plumbing!”

The fuck are you talking about? DLSS 5 has been adding wrinkles and entire facial features, in one demo it kept accidentally adding wheels to cars driving in the background. It doesn’t look like a filter or shader, it looks like ass slop.
- Comment on Keep it off please! 1 day ago:
It’s a very visual topic so using a visual medium to learn about it is ideal.
Again, I feel like it’s disingenuous to compare using pixels to predict local pixels accurate to simply using a higher resolution, to generating an entirely different image every frame. One of them sounds no different than using certain filters or post process, the other sounds like slop ass AI.
- Comment on Keep it off please! 1 day ago:
I highly reccomend searching what DLSS is, how it is used, if you’ve never seen it before.
DLSS 4.5 and before was a “transformer model” that used the pixels from your screen to predict what the surrounding pixels would be, allowing you to view games in higher resolution than your settings. Some people have shown it running a game at 512 pixels and it appear nearly identical to 1920, but with improved framerate. It struggled with motion in a lot of cases but what you were seeing was what the game developers intended for you to see.
DLSS 5 is not doing that, clearly. It’s pulling from something else for reference, some other kind of neural network or language model. The most common critique I hear about it is that it’s “overriding the art” by replacing everything with slop the likes of which you see from other bullshit AI.

I thought you were being serious and that the next comment down made no sense, but you’re saying you want to know about the picture on the left.

It’s kind of sad that they took a good project that allows users to drastically reduce performance requirements on games, DLSS, and they crammed genAI all up its wazoo to the point that all versions before 5 are also being ridiculed.

- Comment on Iran, not the US, currently has the strategic upper hand 4 days ago:
Counterpoint: Israel has the strategic upper hand. They don’t want the US-Iran war to end because they’re planning to expand their borders, and will likely oppose any successful Iranian revolution. The USA has taken no steps to empower a threat to the Iranian state from within, the Orange Asshole probably sold american soldiers to fight purely for Israel’s interests.

The system that demonstrably has the least suffering is built upon suffering? How do you figure?
- Comment on oh shit waddup 5 days ago:
My view on true happiness is that happiness is good and the system that creates the most happiness with the least suffering is the best system.
I’m having trouble understanding which part of that you oppose. Is it your opinion that there should be less happiness total or that all happiness should cost equal or greater suffering?
- Comment on Unconventional strategy. 5 days ago:
Israel is literally waging a war to expand borders, so yeah, maybe they want to be left alone in the sense that they won’t accept any state other than Israel existing in the end.

The best example of democracy is the happiest most well cared for people on earth.
The best example of an anarchy is Myanmar and has common people living like medieval peasants while the elite treat it as the world’s most expensive resort location, while also being manipulated by China in proxy aggression with India.

The Ultra Rich fear the IRS, that is why they promote people like Donald Trump in a bid to dismantle it. We created the IRS and we have a responsibility for future generations to empower and protect it, to harm people like the Ultra Rich, to harm Trump.

Prime example Finnland. Highest tax rate on the rich in the world and also ranks as the happiest nation in earth regularly.
Lesser example is that the USA, while failing, is still in a much better position than Russia which is solely countrolled by a plutocratic oligarchy for decades.
Clearly there is a spectrum for how much or how little people control policy and wealth. There is a a battle going on between the rich and the governments built by the people.

I feel like denying the existence of any amount of democracy everywhere on earth is exactly the mindset that empowers fascists and communist dictators.
It feels good to be able to simplify everything down, but concentration of wealth in market economies is a complicated issue that requires complicated solutions that the majority has been busy crafting and implementing for thousands of years as we progressed from the time of god kings to now. We have real democracies. We have means of the many peacefully controlling the few. We just need more people to participate in that system.

That harms USD Value not so much government operations, so in a roundabout way it actually makes the US Debt slightly less from a pure value perspective. The USA system is such: Government Deficit equates to Loans taken out from US Banks, meaning $38.876 Trillion USD is owed from USA Federal Government to the US Banks.
Meanwhile, more about bonds, between $2.3 and $3 Trillion USD worth of bonds gets issued inside and outside the USA every year for the past 30 years (bonds fulfill in either 15 to 30 years) so if every nation on earth (and their citizens) and the US Citizens suddenly traded in their bonds all at once then it could cause a lot of headaches for the US state but at the end of the day as long as US Banks are willing to loan them cash then it has infinite money.

There is no America as an Empire.
It would be no different than an extra difficult government shutdown. I predict that the government would be forced to start selling off properties to run the IRS and make settlements with the banks.

Honestly not sure why the USA banks haven’t let the Government default, yet. It sort og shows they actually still have faith in the Trump administration.
