- Comment on Valve Sued By The Performing Rights Society Over Music Rights in Games Valve Doesn’t Make or Own 3 weeks ago:
Of course there are examples, but the point is it’s not unique to the United States. You’re literally in a thread about it for those lawsuit in a different country. They aren’t unique to anywhere.
On the other hand there is a very real trend of American media manipulation existing to frame anti-corporate lawsuits as frivolous. Also extensive lobbying of elected officials to stop “frivolous lawsuits”. I’ll let you guess as to why.

I was starting to write a sarcastic comment about the future of Xbox being just the customer paying for a game and then watching the computer play it for them, but yeah that could totally happen.

- Comment on Nearly Half of Europeans Want X Banned if it Continues to Break the Law 4 weeks ago:
This is exactly why I’m against any regulation of any kind. Its up to the consumer to make those choices. Say if a baby food company put deadly amounts of arsenic in their food. That’s those dead babies fault for not exercising their power as consumers. A bank steals all the money the customers put in? Shouldn’t have picked that bank, tough luck. Buy life saving medicine from a pharmaceutical company and they send you sugar pills? Your fault.
Companies don’t commit crimes and are never liable for them. Its on the people who choose to use them. Couldn’t agree with you more. Well said.

- Comment on Evidence seems to indicate that research causes cancer in mice. 4 weeks ago:
There was a West Wing joke somewhat similar to this.
Margaret: Red meat has been found to cause cancer in white rats. Maraschino cherries have been found to cause cancer in white rats. Cellular phones have been found to cause cancer in white rats. Has anyone examined the possibility that cancer might be hereditary in white rats?
Surgeon General Millicent Griffith: Let me tell you something, I’m not a hundred percent sure we’ve ruled that out.

I always appreciated the concept of the Butlerian Jihad. What I underestimated was the absolute fervor I would feel for it. It’s a burning yearning feeling. Deep in my soul.
