Wait, didn’t someone already make exactly this but only for Minecraft?
- Comment on Android won't kill sideloading after all, but new verification rules will make it harder 1 week ago:
Ah damn, well that sucks. I understand, however unfortunate it might be, some people do have actual reasons to stick with vendor-specific bullshit.

You can’t just get an extra card for the account? My bank does offer this, and it’s how my parents have always shared their account.
- Comment on Android won't kill sideloading after all, but new verification rules will make it harder 2 weeks ago:
Don’t you have a physical card?
- Comment on YSK you can turn off Google's personalised advertising. This prevents them from using things like your browsing history, search history, or personal data to serve you customised advertisements. 2 weeks ago:
Newer chromecasts with android TV don’t
- Comment on Most mouse pointers designs assume right-handed users 3 weeks ago:
I have a coworker who’s also left-handed (as am I), but he actually uses a Logitech MX Master 3 (which is very much designed to be held with a right hand), with his left hand. No idea why, it’s uncomfortable and he can’t use half the buttons correctly.
- Comment on If president abductions are something that can apparently just happen how come Putin or Kim Jong Un aren't in some foreign prison right now? 4 weeks ago:
Iirc that’s quite literally part of the plot of 1984, keeping the general populace poor enough so they have netter things to worry about than whatever the fuck the state is doing.

Ahh that makes sense. I thought you were claiming you somehow got all your traffic over HTTPS with some AP settings.
- Comment on Here is a more polished release of nanogram. Fully compatible on raspberry pi now. 1 month ago:
Apparently it was all ai generated and the author doesn’t actually know how to program. Just look at their responses in the .ml cross-post, that’s not someone whose software I would trust.
- Comment on North Korean infiltrator caught working in Amazon IT department thanks to lag — 110ms keystroke input raises red flags over true location 1 month ago:
set all my APs and router and switches and other network nodes to HTTPS
What does that mean? HTTPS is a client-server thing, your APS and switches don’t really have anything to do with that.
- Comment on Typeframe 1 month ago:
Do you actually use the right control or shift keys? I do always touch type but I pretty much only use the left modifier keys.

That entirely depends on who is writing the system prompts. Have you seen the shit grok says on twitter?
- Comment on 1GB Raspberry Pi 5 now available at $45, and memory-driven price rises 2 months ago:
What? You said it having 1GB of memory makes it an easier to program microcontroller. I’m just trying to figure out how that makes sense. The amount of memory doesn’t matter when programming it.
- Comment on 1GB Raspberry Pi 5 now available at $45, and memory-driven price rises 2 months ago:
Can’t you do all that with a 4 or 8GB version?
- Comment on 1GB Raspberry Pi 5 now available at $45, and memory-driven price rises 2 months ago:
How?
- Comment on Finding a private self hosted Google Photos alternative that doesn’t profit from my photos 2 months ago:
I use nextcloud as a general drive, where I also upload photos automatically. Then I just joint the images folder in my immich container.
- Comment on Finding a private self hosted Google Photos alternative that doesn’t profit from my photos 2 months ago:
Personally I host all this kind of stuff using containers, only mounting the folders that need backing up. Then I just back up all my podman volumes. It’s pretty nice not depending on any tools that have to be maintained or anything like that.

Homebrew has announced they’re gonna stop supporting disabling quarantine. Which means I’m gonna stop using Homebrew, as most of their reasoning didn’t make much sense besides “daddy Apple doesn’t like it”.

- Comment on YSK before you buy a replacement for your cellphone that has stopped charging, buy the $10 cleaning kits and spend the time deep cleaning the phone's charging port. 2 months ago:
Well yeah because the plate looks dirty and its because you purposefully put food on it.
No one is purposefully throwing dust at their PC, and if someone doesn’t know that their PC is pulling in air, they wouldn’t know it needs any cleaning besides dusting off like other furniture.
- Comment on People who rely on their phones/computers to tell time probably forgot or didn't realize that a Daylight Saving Time-Change even happened, some might've forgotten that DST existed at all. 2 months ago:
Well you wouldn’t call it DST anymore, so it’s just as arbitrary and weird as most other timezones at that point.

I just use homebrew with quarantine disabled (otherwise homebrew will auto-update the package with quarantine enabled again, even if you installed it without).
I don’t like macs. Just have to use one for work.
