General strike would be worth a try. And you’re treating me like I’m not affected by this and like it’s none of my business. It’s my business because Trump has made threats against my country

I’m not trying to discourage voting. I’d vote in the midterms if I were able. I’m saying people shouldn’t be complacent and wait for an election 10 months from now. Look how much damage Trump has done in a year. November will be too late

Is the law really real if it’s not enforced?

I’m not saying don’t vote, I’m saying that alone isn’t going to help. Do you think people shouldn’t do anything else and should just rest assured all they have to do is vote 10 months from now?
Also, I can’t vote in the Untied States, I’m Canadian. I say us because it’s the whole world’s problem. He’s threatening millions of people who couldn’t vote against this.

Yeah, a lot of things in the Bible probably made more sense for the culture it was written for. Of course the books of the Bible were written over hundreds of years and so culture shifted in that time, explaining some of the contradictions. The reason it doesn’t work very well as a book is there is a lot of background information the writers expected the readers to know that now most people don’t
- Comment on I'm so sick of people claiming Trump won't do certain things because they're illegal 3 days ago:
I’m almost more afraid of that. There are Canadians who WANT Trump to invade. I fear Canada’s government becoming politically aligned with Trump. I was really afraid there’d be an election at Christmas time and the conservatives would win because people wouldn’t bother to vote. I’m uncomfortable with hiw close conservatives were to winning last election. At least my friend who is in denial seems to realize it would be bad if Trump took over Canada. Some Canadians think it would be good if we became part of the Untied States

I’m thankful Canada’s military seems to be taking it seriously

I think it’s denial. Also, my friend and I are both autistic and I think that makes it extra distressing for us when rules aren’t followed

I read the Bible last year and tried to imagine how it would be perceived if it were any work of fiction. Looking at it just as a fictional book, it’s very poorly written. For one thing, explanations of Jesus sacrifice only come after the fact. A good book would have set it up and explained the necessity of the sacrifice beforehand.

I think singular they was still used naturally and unconsciously even when it was taught to be incorrect. People don’t naturally say “he or she”

I’m really curious as to how singular they started being taught as incorrect. I really don’t think it was originally intended to be transphobic.

Also, aren’t you the one who wants grown adults to be protected from dating people older than them? But you think teenagers are old enough to make decisions about mind-altering substances and their parents should leave them alone regarding that and almost everything else?
