For which treatment involves helping them take responsibility for their choices. Some people instead decide they can’t possibly control their choices and choose to be helpless

Some people have no sense of actions resulting in consequences. Some people will eat fattening food and then complain as if they had no choice in the matter. Much like in college when you constantly hear people complaining that they’re not ready for an exam because they spent last evening drunk watching TV instead of studying, as if that wasn’t a choice they made.

I recently watched a miniseries called A Teacher, in which a highschool teacher has an affair with her student and there are actual consequences. With all the people in the epstein files that are escaping justice, it was kind of cathartic to watch a sexual predator be punished for her actions

The entirety of American history, or at least since Jan 6, 2021, when Trump would have been immediately arrested and tried for treason in a sane and efficient society

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. I agree. Internal sense of gender develops later. If babies do have a gender identity, they can’t communicate it. We shouldn’t push gender expectations on babies.

Yes but in the case of trans people, they’re almost never lying. Why should we disbelieve the majority of them on the off chance they might be lying? That’s the same attitude as wanting to take food away from people who need it just because someone might take advantage of the system

Op isn’t talking about our current reality, they’re posing a hypothetical situation in which humans are born without sex and can choose

Are you aware that the majority can be cis and heterosexual and also accept trans people and gay people?

People are wrong constantly about which career they’re best suited for but there isn’t a huge controversy about letting people choose that for themselves

Sometimes I’ve gotten a sense of delayed deja vu where something I experienced earlier that day feels like it’s been in my memory for years

I think weed gives me deja vu. I was binge-watching a show while stoned that I know I hadn’t seen before but I kept feeling like I recognized parts of it

I think The Big Bang Theory is a strong contender. 12 seasons. Popular on streaming. Constantly airing in reruns on various channels. And CTV Comedy does a marathon of it every year around Christmas.

- Comment on The purpose of many company emails is not to inform the reader, but to protect the writer. 1 week ago:
I get annoyed by people complaining that the goal of a movie studio is to make money. Yes. That’s their job. They have employees to pay, it would be irresponsible not to try and make money. The goal of the company may be to make profit but the individuals working on films may still have a goal to make good art while they’re at it. Companies may be incorporating more diversity because they see it as a way to make money, but the individuals they hire to make it happen may be people getting a chance to tell the stories they want to tell. And if the goal of the company is to make art that appeals to as many people as possible, isn’t that also good for the audience?

I once danced with a friend while we both sang along with “love the way you lie”. I was surprised to discover, a few minutes later in conversation, they had no idea what the lyrics were about

All languages choose words based on what sounds nice. Or sometimes we make up words that sound bad if we’re trying to convey something is bad.

There are literal corrupt police in the Untied States but in the context of my rant, I was using police as a metaphor for the people who should be holding Trump accountable but are failing to act

I used to naively believe this was actually unique to Newfoundland. Recently learned that it’s a saying everywhere and everyone acts like it’s unique to where they live

I know people say judgy things. I’m saying the solution is not to worry what people think. That’s why I’m questioning who decides what’s “considered” socially acceptable. Why do you value the opinion of these judgy people more than you value the opinions of yourself and your friends who have these hobbies they care about? Why are they the decider of what’s “considred” acceptable?
