It’s a pretty popular etymology myth, not a joke.
- Comment on Learning the origin of a phrase 4 days ago:
That’s a myth. What uneducated moron put this sign up?
- Comment on Germany: Nord Stream suspect cannot claim immunity 5 days ago:
Dude should be celebrated. Nord Stream was the work of Putins corrupted EU politicians.
- Comment on Teenage girl wearing jersey with Palestinian flag refused entry to Sydney A-League game 6 days ago:
A cult that worships it’s own “bloodline” is still a cult. Just a more racist one.
- Comment on Teenage girl wearing jersey with Palestinian flag refused entry to Sydney A-League game 1 week ago:
This whole sucking up to an insane child mutilating cult with a victim complex is dumb.
- Comment on AI boom could falter without wider adoption, Microsoft chief Satya Nadella warns 1 week ago:
The only people I know who use AI are incredibly stupid. The kind of people who used horoscopes and “which harry potter character are you” quizzes before this shit popped off.

Look at his ugly face.
- Comment on Majority of CEOs report zero payoff from AI splurge 1 week ago:
Every CEO I’ve ever worked for except one, has been a moron. And the scary thing is that these morons, have also been criminals. They of course didn’t view themselves as criminals, because what they did was “smart”, not crime.
- Comment on Captain, masking is highly illogical 1 week ago:
I highly doubt a therapist said this.
- Comment on atlas shrugged as jesus wept 1 week ago:
Not really. It’s been lies the whole time. I can (and have) sit a religious cultist down and show them how their cult shoehorned themselves into stories/traditions they had nothing to do with, and it’ll be pointless. They’ve been driven insane by their cult, and that is that.

Wool underwear my friend. No more bad smells, comfort for the whole day, leave em to hang and they’re good as new the next day.
- Comment on Shut up science!! 1 month ago:
The effect of circadian rythm in mammals doesn’t really have the scientific evidence people think it does. Most people, even highly educated ones, are unwittingly creationists.
- Comment on It's nothing 1 month ago:
Seriously.
Me: I have these medical issues I would like to have checked out. Maybe a blood test would be in order?
Doctor: How many units of alcohol do you consume per sitting, per month, please be specific.
Me: Uh…
Doctor: At what exact time do you poop every day?!?
- Comment on Google's Agentic AI wipes user's entire HDD without permission in catastrophic failure 1 month ago:
As a sys/netadmin married to a developer, I’ve met a lot of developers, and can confirm that most are fucking retards who shouldn’t be let anywhere close to a computer. A result of developer becoming an “in” profession where you could earn a lot of money with minimal education, and managers having no clue what a developer actually is or what good developer work looks like.
- Comment on Criminal court ditches American software giant– Can Dutch universities do without Microsoft? 1 month ago:
Yes, yes they can. In fact, no one “needs” Microsoft or Google products for their work. If they think they do, it’s likely they’re not very competent and useful in the first place.
- Comment on E-bike rules in Australia will soon change with possible ban on sale of bikes faster than 25km/h 2 months ago:
Sweden here. Never had a problem with 250W with cargo on my RadRunner. Not even in heavy snow. You know you’re supposed to pedal them too right?
- Comment on After Today's meeting where Trump fell in love with Mamdani, this is MAGA tomorrow morning. 2 months ago:
What I don’t get is why he’s called a democratic socialist and not a social democrat. You know, the widely used term for parties with his kind of politics around the world.

You can to get drunk/high at home and paint some shit, it might even work out great, but you don’t show up to your job as a painter in the same state.

I’m guessing they feel right at home if they also use Facebook/Instagram/TikTok. People think that’s just how the internet is, many don’t understand what a bot even is.
- Comment on Flight cuts from government shutdown strain a supply chain that's already stretched thin 2 months ago:
FedEx and UPS packages never arrive anyway. Or they do arrive, unannounced, while you’re not home.
- Comment on If God was real (just go with it), then how he's portrayed in the Bible might not even be how he actually is. 2 months ago:
The Bible has almost nothing to do with Yahweh. Dude had a wife and belonged in a pantheon of gods before some cult started worshiping only him. And now we have dumb-fuck cultists mutilating childrens genitalia running around being the shittiest of people.
- Comment on Meta is earning a fortune on a deluge of fraudulent ads, documents show 2 months ago:
Meta, Alphabet and Microsoft are all criminal organisations whose been found guilty of multiple crimes and shows no sign of remorse or change of behaviour. Shareholders and employees with these companies should be held accountable, if not legally, then socially.

- Comment on iCarly was a streamer before streaming was even really a thing. 2 months ago:
Someone who was actually alive in 2007 here. Live streaming was definitely a thing in 2007. In fact, that was around the time it stared getting big with the launch of Justin.tv (later Twitch.tv and acquired by Amazon). You forget that the internet at the time wasn’t as centralised as today. So many creators simply had their own website where they could post videos and stream.
PayPal was more popular than it is today among other options at the time (like you know, using your card and making regular ass bank payments). Buying merch to support your favourite creators was common.
The word “influncer” did exist and there were tons of them on the “blogosphere” in the 00’s. Today largely replaced by Instagram.
