- Comment on While we eagerly await the second coming of Steam Machines, it's worth remembering what a gloriously awful mess Valve got itself in over a decade ago 6 days ago:
A friend of mine thinks it is gonna flop (tbh nobody knows), only because of that prior flop, he refuses to acknowledge that they might have learned of their mistakes, and hardly acknowledge that the Steam Deck is a success, only because it is a different market (he truly doesn’t believe in Steam hardware).
I for one am excited as I don’t have any PC gaming at the moment (or Steam Deck lol), I have been a console (and mostly handheld) gamer since the old days, and this bet on Steam makes sense for me in this day and age.
- Comment on Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026] 1 week ago:
and from what I’ve seen of Valve’s quality control you probably wouldn’t want to risk that.
Wait, what? Care to expand on that?
I didn’t even want to engage with a non official purchase of the Steam Deck yet for what has been already established here, and reading this kills the excitement even further 😅

NGL the cube thingy looks so damn attractive to me, especially as I don’t own any form of PC gaming…
Now please Steam, officially sell to Mexico god damn it!

The dream is that these “niche” hardware starts to gain momentum and these dumb anti cheat kernel start to disappear… Like I said, a dream.
- Comment on Passkeys Explained: The End of Passwords 1 week ago:
I haven’t even bothered into understanding what passkeys are (I know, I should check it out thoroughly) but I think that at its core it requires your phone, and as I like messing around with my hardware installing custom roms and rooting I suppose this method will be pursued by Google so, just as NFC payments, I don’t give a single fuck about it 🤣
- Comment on Is Fast Charging Killing the Battery? A 2-Year Test on 40 Phones 1 week ago:
You guys joke and all, but fast charge induces bigger heat and then translates in more harm for the batteries (which will affect more in hot places).
If we want to close this discussion forever I think all the anxiety that comes from this subject at all is due to the fact we can’t easily replace the batteries, if we could (with the normal-ish battery sizes we have today), I don’t think this test would be even worth doing.
- Comment on Is Fast Charging Killing the Battery? A 2-Year Test on 40 Phones 1 week ago:
It must help as my dad’s S23 (which I happen to use now) has about 88% battery life with 870 cycle counts (he always charged to 80% with said option), and for that I am grateful.

- Comment on FFS Plex, the server is on my local network 1 month ago:
Yeah… That only applies for non CGNATED networks, and as we are in 2025 I’d say most users worldwide are CGNATED or don’t have an IPv6 address… Or worse, both.
If you are CGNATED Plex approach is useless, as their relay sucks as it only lets you play up to 2 (or 4 can’t remember) mbps 720p files lol (server will transcode to meet those requirements), if they wanted to charge for remote streaming they should at least increase the minimum Mbps allowed in their relay, that way I understand they fall into server costs by proxying our media… But until that happens, charging for remote streaming is a completely joke (much more if we have free alternatives to keep doing so in a plethora of devices thanks to Tailscale and Zerotier, the true GOATS with a CGNAT environment).
- Comment on The Video-Game Industry Has a Problem: There Are Too Many Games 1 month ago:
This becomes even worse when you also want to play old gems that missed because you weren’t even born, or because you had kid taste in your early gaming days, but there are worse things to complain at.
My first two video games that I had were Gran Turismo and Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 22, so at my 6 years old or so I already had negative time of hundreds of nice jRPG gems LMAO.

No, but I find fund in adding them to my backlog list anyway.
- Comment on What's your favourite menu music in a game? 1 month ago:
Not sure if they are my favorite but these are the 3 first that came into my mind, in this order:
- Uncharted 2
- Xenoblade Chronicles
- Kingdom Hearts
I am pretty sure there are another good ones out there that I can’t remember right now (like Time Hollow).
- Comment on FFS Plex, the server is on my local network 1 month ago:
Imagine wanting to charge to stream your own media with your own hardware and resources… Hey wait, we don’t have to imagine it anymore, Plex already did it.
I forgot as I am a Plex Pass Lifetime user, and oh boy I’ll be sure to milk that out (actually after all these years I think I have already done that) just to keep being an annoying stat for Plex and nothing else 🤣

- Comment on Xbox consoles are getting a price bump. Again. 1 month ago:
Are PC prices keeping steady? This new BS trend of raising price for old hardware is nothing but a bad joke, and I have always been a console (and mostly, handheld) gamer, that’s why I ask.

- Comment on What's *your* favorite way to play old games? 2 months ago:
I think for everything that is not best played with a CRT I head to emulation, HDMI compatible and especially handhelds I try to stick with original hardware (overall the DS format as it is odd while being emulated).
- Comment on PSP games that are enjoyable without the nostalgia-factor 2 months ago:
Chili con Carnage (Shoot-Em-Up that kinda controls like og Doom but 3rd person, tbh the humor is where it shines)
Chili con Carnage mentioned? And on Lemmy? The weirdest thing I’ll see today here 🤣
I love this game, I have finished it like 3 times I guess, and yes the humor is top notch, even when it is a 3rd person shooter I don’t think I faced any issues with the controls while playing it on the PSP.

I didn’t know about this game, but honestly it is so good that others experience the same as I, of course I don’t think that I am the only one in the world that Chrono Trigger is not for him (not even sure about this myself), but definitely is so scarce to read comments of people struggling with the title compared with praises for it gets!

Jump Ultimate Stars, this is the dream game for any Otaku, the fact that we can still play it in 2025 thanks to custom servers is a blessing.
-
God Of War 2018, I was having a bad streak gaming related due to personal and work life, but when this game was released I got it immediately, something that I rarely do (patient gamer gang), anyway, this game kept me awake late nights, I know this is not something that one should brag about, but I was enjoying it completely thus the nights felt that happened too quickly.
-
Toy Story 2, this game will never age for me, I honestly don’t know if it should deserve this spot, but if there is a game that I have replayed the most in my life, this would be it, the platform mechanics and graphics are top notch for me (and hey, PS1 graphics are making a comeback, so no shame at all with that style).
Maybe another game deserves that last spot, but those 3 games were the 1st ones that came to my mind.
Honorable mentions:
Mario Kart DS
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy
Hotel Dusk & The Last Window (can you guess my favorite console by this point?)
Pokémon Soul Silver
TWEWY
Time Hollow
All the other God of War games (even Ascension)
Batman Arkham saga (even Origins)
The Witcher 3
Xenoblade
And a bunch others that would make this list absurdly big, which is not the main point of this post.

- Chrono Trigger is at the way top. The greatest game of all time hasn’t been bested in 30 years. Telling the best narrative I’ve heard in my life, and packing it into 20 short hours, with timeless art and amazing music, and into FOUR GODDAMN MEGABYTES, this is one many try to beat, and none have succeeded. Not even Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
I would lose the count of how many times I have read praises (well deserved) for Chrono Trigger, and it only makes me feel bad with myself because I left it unfinished (I am close to the 1st ending… I think) because I was lost all the damn time and needed a guide to move forward, something that I really don’t enjoy, and I didn’t have too many gaps while playing it to be fair.
I enjoy RPGs and jRPGs, even when they are not my favorite genres, but I don’t like to feel lost all the time.
Now, it should be obvious that I didn’t play this game back in its day, my last game session was about a year ago in my DSi XL (arguably the best way to experience it) so I have 0 nostalgia googles about it, although I am a Toriyama fan and I loved the art style, graphics and music, it is only the pace and the narrative that didn’t caught me completely…
I know I shouldn’t force myself to finish it as gaming is a hobby after all, but damn, I really want to complete it, at least one playthrough lol (I don’t like to leave stuff unfinished).
If anyone has tips to not feel lost all the damn time (aside of not stop playing for a brief time) I am all ears.
