I was just thinking about all the industrial spying China has done over the years. Would be awful if someone released their secrets for battery tech in their cars (if they actually exist).

Claptrap seems more like a Grok.
- Comment on Switch 2 demand appears to be flagging as Nintendo reportedly lowers production 1 week ago:
The sales taxes were not to be included in the final price so that companies don’t jack up the price of things to the next $x.99 amount. It’s to be shown separately. Whether that actually does anything, I’m not sure. But I got pretty good at estimating 14%.

Sounds tough, but fun if you know the game well.

I played Metal Gear 3 on PS2 back when it came out. I feel like I have almost no idea what you’re talking about in this post! What is a Fox Hound run? “With 9/20 injuries and 4 health segments lost.” This is also confusing to me.
I’m guessing this is the PC version based on the screenshots. Looks pretty nice!

Oh boy! I love that adrenaline rush you get after executing a command and it takes a really long time that it makes you wonder “did I just delete something important?”. Not many other things can give you that tingly feeling. Glad you found a way to recover your stuff.
I’m gonna go install some backups today…

I can’t remember civ 3 nearly as much as 2 and 4.
- Comment on Happy IWD! 3 weeks ago:
From what I heard, Candy companies lobbied for a change in when the clock changes happen so that it would happen after Halloween and kids would have more daylight for trick or treating. And therefore more candy is purchased.

Shameless stolen comment: It’s fitting that International Women’s Day has only 23 hours.

I’ve always loved the beginning of a Civ game, but kinda hated how bogged down the middle and late game get. So if this gives the feeling of early civ games, I’ll probably love it.

I’d do the same…
- Comment on Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC 3 weeks ago:
Partly because newly released games are buggy and unfinished and they can take a while before they’re stable and quality of life features fully in place.
I don’t want to pay to be a beta tester, and I especially don’t want to pay full price for that. I can wait a bit and get a better game for cheaper.
I’ve only bought a couple of games on early release or at release lately. Deep Rock Galactic Survivor because it had a demo I enjoyed, and Hades 2 because I trust that studio and Hades is one of my favourite games.
- Comment on Earbugld question: Does anyone actually like to silicone tipped earbuds over the solid plastic ones? 4 weeks ago:
I accidentally put my earbuds though a wash cycle and borrowed some airpods for the gym while waiting for replacements. I don’t understand how a solid one-size-fits all approach can be so popular. With silicone tips you can have different sizes. I actually use a different size for each ear.

Dynasty Warriors has been my stress relief game. I just love jumping into a hoard of enemies and just start swinging.

We just started reading those books at bedtime so I’ll be able to report if I see that word in there.
- Comment on Epstein Files: X Users Are Asking Grok to 'Unblur' Photos of Children 1 month ago:
I wondered if the word had something to do with a googol (I learned that word from World Book Encyclopedia kids books), but I figured my young son didn’t know that word yet and just invented some word using Google. Crazy how language can get around on the playground.

Wait, what? My son has been using “googleplex” when he wants a really big number. I thought it was a weird word he made up. I guess it’s a thing….
