Chris n Jack are hilarious!
Fun fact : Jack is Jack de sena - Voice actor of sokka from Avatar the Last Airbender.
They have cameos from other voice actors from the show as well in their skits.

Yeah. Dude has a bad management problem.
Star citizen could have been delivered by 2017 if they had stuck to their original goals. They could have always added more as updates. I guess he never learnt about mvp.

Add chris roberts to that list.
- Comment on Block chain to stop AI scams. 2 weeks ago:
Yeah I guess it is not feasible.
- Comment on Block chain to stop AI scams. 2 weeks ago:
No no. I have nothing to do with Blockchain. I barely understand it.
I was just thinking about methods of mitigating harm from misinfo and scam.
And since Blockchain provides privacy but at the same time provides some information to the public I thought it might have worked.
- Comment on Block chain to stop AI scams. 2 weeks ago:
It would be another variable to work with when trying to distinguish if the image/video is genAI or not.
- Comment on Block chain to stop AI scams. 2 weeks ago:
Oh damn. It’s starting to sound like something that can be used to justify complete control over people’s lives.
Governments and corporates might use the “security reasons” reason to get even more info and control over us.
Yeah that was not my intention.
- Comment on Block chain to stop AI scams. 2 weeks ago:
The point was to mitigate the harm I suppose not entirely stop it.
As for the mandatory dpxxing, you’d just be registering on the block chain, but wouldn’t give away any other information.
So the only info that you give away is - whether something is real or not.
- Comment on Block chain to stop AI scams. 2 weeks ago:
I did think about that. That was the original idea.
But I thought it was less feasible to get everyone on board for it than just the AI gen companies.
But again, I don’t know enough about it. I was wondering if there are any projects try to do something like this.
- Comment on Block chain to stop AI scams. 2 weeks ago:
Ahh yes, my intention was for such tech to make it difficult and mitigate harm not entirely stop it
If something lacked the fingerprint, it would immediately be suspicious.
But yeah I don’t completely understand the tech, so I want to know if there’s any such project or research on the same.
Block chain is an interesting form of fingerprinting that allows privacy for actors but not complete privacy.

- Comment on How do you introduce the Fediverse to other people? 4 weeks ago:
This is how I do it.
Brief
Imagine if there were 5 clones of twitter, all owned by different companies, but they could all still talk to each other.
Imagine that person from Twitter could talk to people from threads and bluesky.
Why do it this way?
- Each twitter clone could have its own quirks. Like one could have a dislike button where as the rest won’t.
- If one of the clone owners decides to become nazi, we can just migrate to another clone.
- This makes sure power is not concentrated in one place!
- If the system is open source, you can even start your own version of twitter where you rule!
Don’t care about talking to people on twitter!
But you say “I don’t want to have to talk to people from Twitter!”. Well, doing it this way allows you to choose not to do so. (There’s an option for this)
What is fediverse?
It’s the network through which all these different but similar apps can talk to each other. Lemmy is like reddit, there are 100s of lemmy apps that can talk to each other (or choose not to if they don’t want to). Mastadon is like twitter
And there are more.
Fun Extra
Unlike with instagram and twitter and reddit, fediverse apps like mastadon and lemmy can theoretically talk to each other. So you will be able to see your “tweets” with your “reddit feed”.

You should make one. It could be fun to make.
Since how you define something as being one political leaning over another is subjective (mostly), You could allow community to label the outlets and let it reflect current views and use feddy protocol, so you can have multiple aggregators that have different labels.
- Comment on Any FLOSS alternative's to Ground News? 1 month ago:
I got a stroke reading this, sorry but you’ll have to simplify.
If you mean to say socialism is communism lite. Sure, that’s exactly what it is. That’s a good transitory model.
Direct transition is susceptible to hijacking by fascists.

It’s more socialism than communism. But ofcourse depends on which side of lemmy you are on.
- Comment on Any FLOSS alternative's to Ground News? 1 month ago:
I could see an alternative where the community curates and assigns the political learnings.
But yeah, otherwise it is just a service.

Well with the support that’s come from mainstream gaming influencers, I hope the opinion has swayed in the opposite direction.

Isn’t that a win win tho? Less live service games?
The industry is already horrible to work in.

Dunno, seems like a global problem. European car companies are scared too. And they don’t make those big cars.
The only issue I see is that china is very hostile with how it deals with other countries, otherwise this is just the trend of how things work out. In the 80s, it was the japanese car industry.

- Comment on Statement on Stop Killing Games - VIDEOGAMES EUROPE 3 months ago:
The initiative’s issue isn’t with them being online-only (though personally people hate it). The initiative aims for games to have the ability to have a reasonable state of playability past the end of life.
This is for all kinds of games - single-player, multiple player, live service, only only. The point is to keep what you paid for.
- Comment on Statement on Stop Killing Games - VIDEOGAMES EUROPE 3 months ago:
What do you mean?
Changing the design happens during the pre-production. This will not effect any games retroactively. As unfortunate as it is, until the EU parliament decides on a law or regulation all games destined to die will die.

They have a management problem. Roberts has had a history with badly managing projects especially where his uberambition is unchecked.
They could’ve entirely and easily avoided the forever beta tag if they had released the single player early on (even if it wasn’t perfect), like they had promised and then continued to work on the persistent universe.

How’s the sequel? The OG was a unique in its horror. Though I can’t say much for it’s characters I quite enjoyed the vibes.
