Not that I can remember, only the numerical pad with letters.
I think it wasn’t a thing because it was about keeping devices practical and portable… But that ship already sailed and sinked so I’d be up for something bulky but practical or just going back to numerical pad with letters. - Comment on Do we need more users ? 1 week ago:
100% agree, I can just check once a day, skipping basically everything you mentioned + the non-memes in the meme comms and that’s it, no need to open the threadiverse again until the next day.
We also need artists and creative people on board, yes, even the ones who draw porn, but the threadiverse users seemed kind of hostile towards many things during the reddit exodus they decided it wasn’t a good place.
Wonder if they’d have a different experience now, since most instances have defederated hex, ml and grad, and those were the loudest when it came to brigade and complain about anything sexy.

To add to the other comment, the fucking blocking functionality just works.
On Lemmy it’s half assed so you can’t completely defed/block:
- If someone crossposts it to another instance it appears on the feed
- If you (as a normal user) block an instance you still see the crossposts and their users
On piefed you have many block options and they just work.

Fixed, brain not braining good.
Also I swear I tried at least once but I can’t remember why right now…

Qwerty flip phone and I’m in… But no foldable screen bullshit.
Also give back the fucking aux input.

And I’ve never seen their posts on my feed… I’ll try searching some comms from there to here and see if it was just missing active federation.
And being the cynical asshole that I am… It doesn’t surprise me at all, the technological ignorance is huge in latinamerica and we are stubborn as fuck, people just don’t want to learn or try anything different, even if it could be better.

There's only one mexican instance, it uses a whitelist and it fucking federates with grad so... Yeah, out of options.
I've been here since the reddit API exodus and I've never seen a latinamerican comm in my feed, much less latinamerican spanish posts.
And hosting an instance is not that simple, it requires effort, content, time, some originality and money (even if a little)... And people who want to join, but I've seen maybe 1 mexican (who I assume lives in México too) other than me... Because mexicans love being strangled by meta, so there's little to no incentive into creating a space for us in the fediverse.

Which one of those is closer to what Telegram brings to the table?
Mostly pretty stuff like gifs/mp4/webm with alpha, stickers, animated stickers and handling things like webp/webm, self-destructing multimedia, chats that dissapear after X time... maybe groups and channels too, adding people by alias instead of phone number (maybe qr, but not a huge link like the one SimpleX uses). You know, things that could help me to bring my "friends" and family on board or at least to give it a try.
- Comment on matrix is cooked 7 months ago:
Because Matrix isn't exactly private since it's meant to be a Discord clone and I share piracy among my friends and family, or for the sexy times with my friends, I need something that at least has self-destructing messages or chats where messages dissapear after some time.
I could trust it if I could self-host, but I lack the hardware (disk space, mostly) and the availability (I can't leave my pc on all the time [also I live in México, the internet is terrible and I tend to hog it if I'm downloading something]), so I'd have to trust some random yahoo with my stuff but it wouldn't have what I'm looking for anyway.
