I mean, there was no AI in the finished product.
- Comment on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 loses Game of the Year from the Indie Game Awards 1 week ago:
People pointed out that the game did use AI-generated assets as placeholders, but then replaced them with human-created assets later.
I don’t see why this is such a big deal?

Pretty sure what these people are doing is the definition of abuse though.
- Comment on This long-term data storage will last 14 billion years 2 weeks ago:
I had the exact same idea, you could upload your data to cloud storage, and have them write it to the doodad and send it to you.

I really don’t think that’s how it works.
- Comment on Man Charged for Wiping Phone Before CBP Could Search It 3 weeks ago:
If that’s the case, this would definitely be destruction of evidence.

AI slop generally doesn’t go down well here.
- Comment on AI Slop Is Ruining Reddit for Everyone 3 weeks ago:
a subreddit called r/CrabBucket heavily abused it to force folks to stay.
That’s absolutely hilarious.

I’m the same, I know it’s AI, but the only thing I can point to is the yellow staining. It’s just a vibe thing.

The whole “women’s clothing has no pockets” situation happened because women buy clothing with no pockets, then complain about the lack of pockets.
If you made men’s clothing with no pockets, you’d have a bunch of clothes nobody wants.
- Comment on To celebrate Oxford Word of The Year, Submit your worthy ones for rating in the comments 4 weeks ago:
Much the same way as women’s clothing not having pockets.
If you made men’s clothing with no pockets, you’d have a bunch of unsold men’s clothing with no pockets.

That’ll do it.

If a house cat doesn’t like you, it won’t approach you. I imagine a cheetah would be the same.
- Comment on it's friend shaped! 4 weeks ago:
Cheetahs are apparently the most chill of the big cats, people do keep them as pets.
My local zoo will actually let people meet the cheetahs, and I can’t imagine that happening with the tigers.

We need to mock the British more, they don’t get anywhere near what they deserve.

Very soon, you’ll need a VPN loicence.
- Comment on car producers 5 weeks ago:
That’s a massive drop for any company, although I suspect the US manufacturing industry isn’t doing well in general.
I suspect the main reason is people become far more concerned with reliability and running cost when times are tight, and their vehicles are anything but reliable.

I’ve got a Windows 11 laptop as well, so it’s not a big issue if I brick the machine.
I’m just gonna jump in head first. When I get around to it.

At some point, I need to get around to installing Mint on my desktop. Maybe this weekend, but probably not.

The same rules apply to a roundabout where I live, if the exit isn’t clear, you don’t enter.
People do it all the time and block the roundabout, but you’re not supposed to.
- Comment on Another angle of this modern art installation 5 weeks ago:
Possibly, but I think they all thought they could fit through.
- Comment on Another angle of this modern art installation 5 weeks ago:
Do not enter the intersection unless the exit is clear.
- Comment on Happy DB Cooper Day to those who celebrate! 5 weeks ago:
The leading theory is he was a CIA operative, because jumping from the rear stairs like that was something they did in the field.
And the leading theory was he survived, because there was a copycat crime, which worked until the guy was caught on the ground, with the cash.
It just gets crazier the deeper you go.
