Thats the goal
- Comment on The AI bubble is so big it's propping up the US economy (for now) 1 day ago:
I imagine a dystopia where the main internet has been destroyed and watered down so you can only access it through a giant corpo llm. So you choose between watching an ai generated movie for entertainment or a coffee. Because they will destroy the internet any way they can.
Also they’ll charge more for prompts related to things you like. Its all there for the plundering, and consumers want it.

Millennials are killing the mass surveillance and advertising industry!
- Comment on Socially inept, introverted employees. How do you survive the workplace? Because I’m in dire need of some serious advice. 2 days ago:
Seems like maybe that’s one of those jobs where you have to be buds with people to get along and make it look like youre part of the team. I’d imagine police or fireman or military work is a lot like that (guessing).
I’ve never worked those jobs but I can say for dang sure the second you start to buddy up with managers and such and get invited to bars with them, you make more money and do less work. Its bullshit and I left that job because the introverts doing real work were under rewarded while people who talked loud a didn’t do shit got promotions.

The profit of ai lies in this: mass surveillance and ads. Thats it.
- Comment on This 81-year-old still works at Home Depot to support herself and her 90-year-old husband 2 days ago:
Man that sucks.
However I have to be that person and say I know people who wasted tons of money on stupid shit and made dumb choices even though they had advisors helping them, and are working at Walmart in their 70s because of it. Those people shouldn’t be rewarded with regular Joe’s money. Now, billionaires can foot that bill, like they should everything. But dont punish the 99.9% (which is what will actually happen. And why people are afraid of liberals in office. No one seems to get that, and thats why the right keeps winning. It needs to be clearly stated in the lefts playbook that anyone making under a billion dollars will be left alone. Then they may have a chance.)
Keep in mind these are not my thoughts, these are my observations of the Common Person in red states.

I’ll still be using it regardless…its not like its going to dissappear
- Comment on Im an unworthy Fraud when it comes to Tech 6 days ago:
Tbf, computers are so boring now. To have been around when it was really booming, and you were coding machine language and talking to the actual hardware in a pc, now THAT would be cool and motivating. Now its just stealing code or using Ai code to make a bloated java website. Like all things, it just got boring.
Trying to get myst running on a p3 with 256m ram was actually fun and interesting. Now you just install steam, ha
- Comment on Im an unworthy Fraud when it comes to Tech 6 days ago:
Im exactly the same way. Im mad at people using Ai to code because all my life wanted to code but can’t get it down (ADHD).
I wish I was someone who could go huh, this 1998 ms flight Sim stick doesn’t work on linux. I’ll write a program to make it work! But there’s no way that will happen now
But I can run linux and at least im not on windows so that makes me feel better.
- Comment on Zuckerberg says people without AI glasses will be at a disadvantage in the future 6 days ago:
There’s hardly anything left. Anything developed now is for BUSINESS LINE GO UP ADD MORE FEATURES because its all been done, we have perfected computing 15 years ago. All this is just slop features for the rich to get richer off our data. Every single new tech “innovation” is for surveillance and capitalism/fascism.
Really the iPhone was the last actual innovative tech thing to be “invented”. The only thing left now is better energy production, and maybe health advances.

Windows sucks ass so bad nowadays. I put windows 98 on a vm the other day and its literally better ui and function than 11. Not to mention, no Spyware and ads.

People are lazier than ever now. Thats one reason I dont like the tech illiterate normies. Its SO EASY so learn how to use the tools you interact with 24/7. But they are lazy.
- Comment on Lemmy is a tech literate echo chamber 1 week ago:
Nas is really not hard and sooo convenient. You could do it

Right back to the old days of having to go to the library to use the internet, but it will be because corpos destroyed all usable info and require a 200 dollar per month th subscription to use their shitty Hitler ai.

As what was said below, it was kind of a golden age. It was usable by normal people but still pretty novel to most. And it was a while before corporations ruined it. Inlived through it so I can confirm it was better in most ways, besides speeds.

I’ve been wondering how we can build a new underground net that is just the internet of 2002, but with more bandwidth. Somewhere normies can’t access easily and with a bad ui so they don’t want to.

Hmm, no, but you could get really really good at trucking or farming sim or bus sim and apply those skills to real life. That is something people have actually done.
