- Comment on I am a solo developer that just released a horror game called The 18th Attic where you can pet your cat to restore sanity - Let me know what you think! 1 day ago:
Looks good
Any inspiration from The 7th Guest? Lol
- Comment on Recommend some games for PCem 5 days ago:
Nblood is a good source port, I think there’s a couple others too
- Comment on Ideas for a better Lemmy experience 5 days ago:
Probably slightly, but not worth turning away potential new users. We need more users.
- Comment on Ideas for a better Lemmy experience 5 days ago:
I don’t think we should be limiting new users from commenting or posting. And 7 days is a long time.
Auto closing communities would be really annoying, but I think dimming them or marking them in the lists/search results would be nice. I filed an issue on this already github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/3174 maybe if more people think this is a good idea they could leave comments there

Deus Ex runs way better natively than in PCem
- Comment on AI companies will fail. We can salvage something from the wreckage | Cory Doctorow 6 days ago:
Hopefully we have ways to recycle the old chips. Some of the GPU chips could maybe be put on consumer boards? I’ve already heard of memory chips being recycled, except HBM of course.
- Comment on IO Interactive have fixed the crazy PC specifications for 007 First Light 1 week ago:
Like, can you run the game + Discord + a browser on a 16GB system or not.
Typically that’s fine, otherwise 32GB would be the recommended system spec, because that’s normal behavior
- Comment on If a Lemmy user has the same name as a community, how can I tag the community on Mastodon? 1 week ago:
I agree. Users shouldn’t be allowed to choose a name that already exists as a community. But it would be a shame if communities could not be created because a user with that name already exists.
- Comment on Do we need more users ? 1 week ago:
One issue is I think Lemmy’s UX means there’s less friction with local communities than remote communities (not sure why) which is why usually the lemmy.world version of communities typically wins
- Comment on If a Lemmy user has the same name as a community, how can I tag the community on Mastodon? 1 week ago:
What if the community was the first entry in the results instead of the user? Maybe that’s more appropriate and might cause Mastodon to default to the community when there’s a conflict
- Comment on Do we need more users ? 1 week ago:
yea I think so lol
- Comment on Do we need more users ? 1 week ago:
We really need better onboarding for new users, maybe ask them about their interests to give them a default set of subscriptions (it would probably just be a tweaked version of the community search page). And default to the subscribed feed, not the All feed
- Comment on Lemmy's active userbase has been stable since September 2025 1 week ago:
(not a statistician) The events that WOULD be synchronized are: instances going down, users being deleted, and new user signups.
Maybe this is enough to make them look like this. Those are the events that cause jumps, whereas users hitting the 6 months of inactive time would just be a steady, stable, gentle slope.
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Yea true.
I didn’t mean you should tell people “use Voyager or Boost for Lemmy”
I meant you should tell people “use Voyager” or “use Boost for Lemmy” or whatever app you think they would like, but just 1
- Comment on Steam begins 2026 by smashing the users online record again 1 week ago:

and now PieFed supports moving posts! piefed.social/…/piefed-1-5-is-released-move-posts…
So Piefed admins/mods could consolidate communities by moving the posts before deleting the community

- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Yeah I don’t use All often
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Scaled is great for Subscribed, but I don’t like Scaled+All
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Maybe we should put a pinned post at the top of each dead community that just says “go here instead”
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Have you checked !movies@piefed.social and !television@piefed.social
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Or maybe people just need to stop saying “Lemmy” and instead say “Voyager”, or “Boost for Lemmy” or whatever app they would suggest to use?
It’s like Linux, I don’t suggest people to install Linux because that’s not a thing, I suggest they install Bazzite or Fedora KDE, or whatever I think will suit them best
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
You gotta send them to a specific instance, one that defederated certain instances
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Just ban the instances you don’t like, don’t succumb to FOMO
- Comment on we need more users 1 week ago:
Nah, those posts get crossposted anyways, you wouldn’t be missing much
