PSO is a crazy time sink. If you do a 2 hour play session then you’ve made approximately 0 progress in the game lol. I can’t imagine that being successful these days unfortunately, but it was amazing to get lost in the game as a teenager.

Unreal PT was actually really good lol. But yeah most of those Unreal Engine “remakes” are just a couple of graphics assets with no real gameplay or content

I think it updates every time you poll it, it’s not really top of the day it’s actually top of the past 24 hours
It knows what you’re subscribed to because the link includes a long code in it

This was the PC version, it was after v2 which changed all the drop rates a lot. And it included episodes 1, 2, and 4. (Episode 3 was a completely different game lol)

I played PSO so much! I bought a Dreamcast just for this game. Also played it in Xbox and PC, and private servers on PC. One of my favorite games ever.

Yeah I think a good gaming monitor has better latency than a CRT. I remember a Mario 64 speedrunning event brought the top players in for a weekend (literally a new world record was set at this event, they had all the best players) and they were all playing on gaming monitors with a good N64 to HDMI adapter. None of them complained about latency, they all enjoyed the setup, and I remember the world record holder (Cheese) actually started using the same setup at home.

I was gonna say Monkey Island but that’s actually 1990. SimyCity was 1989, I’m not sure if that’s worth playing these days compared to SimCity 2000 or something. Mario 2 (US) and 3 are probably still good.
