- Comment on Do movie actors or actress keep the skills they learned? Like no one would screw with Keanu after seeing all the John Wick films? And if they did would they just be fucked from the start? 1 week ago:
It does mean he’s far above the average person (which isn’t saying much, the average person probably has less than an hour of firearms training, and maybe 1 day of material arts training at most)

So if he had a gun you’d likely be in trouble.
Lol

So, if a lot of your viewers think your channel is good enough to donate to, ad money basically becomes an afterthought.
I don’t think this is realistic, most people will not open their wallets, especially since they can’t just go around paying a monthly subscription to everyone they watch.

Lemmy has that too (depending which app/frontend you use)
- Comment on PieFed.World is now open 2 weeks ago:
Doesn’t PieFed already do this?

Kinda: discover.discourse.com
I don’t think it’s a complete list, but also there’s no way to filter by which ones have the ActivityPub plugin
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
there’s a plugin for it

There’s been a pivot away from “classic” speedruns games over the last few years - I get that Doom or Sonic 2 or Goldeneye or other 90s games aren’t guaranteed a place every year, but it seems like the games that kicked off the speedrun scene are often overlooked these days.
I definitely always want 80s/90s games in GDQ lol, but I’m old so what do I know, I can still enjoy newer games sometimes

Like the 2016 Doom onwards, the runs are technically outstanding, but there’s a lot of walking on invisible geometry with collision detection, or random tricks like railboosting in Doom that seems to break a game.
but the glitchless/etc runs of those Doom games on high difficulty are amazing, Doom Eternal is so fast it’s basically a single-player e-sport

Any runs you’re looking forward to?
Castlevania games, Resident Evil games, Titanfall 2, Doom Dark Ages, Halo Reach (4 player co-op!), Mario Maker relay race, Mario 3, and of course the Silly Games block
But usually my favorite runs are the ones I don’t expect

will definately check out mbin too

It makes me mad how many people refused to leave Twitter, or even just diversify to posting on other platforms, even if they’re supposed to be left leaning politically…
GamesDoneQuick for example, they always say “trans rights” and yet their only social media account was on Twitter, until they joined Bluesky just 5 months ago and they still post on both. I don’t get it. They could’ve made a Bluesky or Mastodon account years ago, even if they keep posting to Twitter just mirror your posts!
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
Do it! You’ll probably find like-minded users. Don’t forget PixelFed and Loops too.
Although maybe you could just contribute to Mbin or fork it, cause I feel like it already does all of this?
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
Even more than per product, it’s generally per category of products. You can run Lemmy, Mbin, or PieFed and get access to the Threadiverse. The devs actually do a good job with the interop when it fits the format of their site.
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
It doesn’t seem too popular
This is probably why it’s not a focus for developers. If Mbin was some huge success, it would show demand for the feature, and more developers would prioritize it higher.
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
I really don’t mind having a separate account for Lemmy and Mastodon. It’s not pleasant to force different types of content into different website formats, even if the implementation is “ideal”.

but B is the most right.
C is most correct canonical URL actually. See the HTML at the bottom of this screenshot

More confirmation that C is the canonical URL. Check the <head> section in the HTML (bottom of the screenshot)

I don’t think there’s a quick way to get link B, but C is literally called the canonical URL. Check the <head> section in the HTML.

C is the original, not B

unfortunately there’s a nearly 0% chance that such a project would make the kind of money that EA wants from their games

I actually loved the mechanics of this game, the gunplay and flying controls were so tight
- Comment on Is the Fediverse stalling? 3 weeks ago:
so people still have to choose an instance to login to? this is just to save you from creating an account which is like 25 keystrokes and 4 clicks?
I also don’t really want to make things easier for people who get banned often, sounds like it would be easier for trolls to bounce between hundreds of instances with fewer accounts.
- Comment on Is the Fediverse stalling? 3 weeks ago:
But then who is your admin team? People don’t want to deal with spam and trolls.
- Comment on Is the Fediverse stalling? 3 weeks ago:
Actually I’m not sure that’s possible yet! Seems like you have to use Lemmy or something to browse them in that way.
