Dragon Ball Super: Beerus for me, yep gotta watch this story again before they give us the new stuff lol

does Outlaw Star count? lol idk any others

strangely missing Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, which is October 11th

I feel the same way about Akira, I was never crazy about it

Yeah it’s definitely half battle shounen. But “battle shounen” is a genre, while “shounen” does not appear to be a genre. It’s just the groupings by age and gender (at least according to OP), but they’re only decided by the company that prints them, and determined before the actual fanbase is found, and don’t change according to reception. Doesn’t seem very meaningful for us.

The reason Frieren is classified as shounen is because the manga is serialized in Weekly Shounen Sunday.

Today I learned the “shounen” label is useless for categorization lol

I thought shounen was a genre not a demographic lol. Never even heard of the other 3.

Another another rehash lol, yes. They’re remastering the first few arcs of Super (or maybe the whole thing?) before releasing the sequel anime series, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol

I struggle to hold myself back from just dropping a Frieren comment in every post here lol

I’m here to 2nd Frieren. It starts slow just slice of life with tons of emotions. Eventually you realize it can be badass when it wants to be, then it goes back to being super wholesome lol. My favorite show ever, 11/10

Sure the manga barely started before the anime DBS show, but it’s more complicated than that, for example

the movie …fandom.com/…/Dragon_Ball_Z:_Battle_of_Gods

the manga …fandom.com/…/God_of_Destruction's_Premonition

The movie was released March 30, 2013, but the manga didn’t start until June 24, 2016.

Although it seems there was a “promotional” manga that came out earlier, it is not THE manga en.wikipedia.org/…/Dragon_Ball_Z:_Battle_of_Gods#…

And it appears to be an adaptation of the movie, not the other way around. In this case I guess you could say neither the anime nor the manga (nor the promotional manga) is the “original”, the movie is the original.

For Resurrection of F …fandom.com/…/Dragon_Ball_Z:_Resurrection_‘F’

There was again a promotional manga, but it was an adaptation of the movie, and it did not even show the ending. So again here the movie is the “original”. And then the DBS manga series skipped this saga.

dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Golden_Frieza_Saga#Tri…

However the manga adaptation stops before the fight between Golden Frieza and Super Saiyan Blue Goku, to encourage readers to go see the film (thus Toyotarou may have also decided to not adapt the saga in the Dragon Ball Super manga for the same reasons the adaptation ends before Goku’s fight with Golden Frieza).

dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Universe_6_Saga#Manga_…

The Universe 6 Saga ended May 1, 2016 in the anime, and June 21, 2016 in the manga, so the anime was ahead by the end of the saga.

dragonball.fandom.com/…/Universe_Survival_Saga#Ma…

The Universe Survival Saga started February 5, 2017 in the anime, and August 21, 2017 in the manga, so the anime was ahead again. And the anime finished sooner too: March 25, 2018 vs November 20, 2018.

(not sure if this arc will be getting remastered though)

“original manga”? Didn’t the anime come before the manga for these arcs?

I’ve heard it’s just a remaster of the anime

I’m not sure, I’ve heard it’s just a remaster of the anime

I think Brawlhalla supports 8 players

I only know of ZOOM Platform because of their Duke Nukem 3D deal lol

I’m gonna be mad if Frieren doesn’t keep getting Blu-ray releases

I didn’t mean to suggest it would be the only point of backup. If you plug it in and it works then it saves a lot of time downloading from some off-site backup.

You could just use it as cold storage. Put a bunch of stuff on there as backup and then put it in a closet.

…do I even have to say it?

I’ve watched all 38 episodes of Frieren like 10+ times this year lol

Lemmy eventually plans on having an invite system, you could maybe use that when it comes out

That post doesn’t even mention Steam at all lol, has nothing to do with Steam survey’s Linux measurement

So weird that there’s a community specifically for hating Linux

13.47 years on spinning rust, very nice!

4. Why can’t they just… Desintegrate, burn, destroy, cursed objects?

I’m not very far in the show, but it’s an extremely common horror trope that you can’t destroy cursed objects
