pretty sure its been modified for one as an excuse to cut costs but the excuse is that it allows clearance for remodeling since in the 1900s a 2x4 WAS a 2x4 but with wear and tear smaller size 2x4s were easier for renovations.

It’s suggestive sure, but so is a lot of cinematography in mainstream american movies. I can tell when a good cinematographer fims tastefully because the shot is comfortable to watch. When there’s exterme angles and other tripups of the camera’s eye you can tell it’s off somewhat. It’ not cp but a more tasteful artist would be more widely enjoyed.
