Hah, hey look if it helps some people than yes, it’s fine as long as it’s not affecting non-believers rights to do what they want too. It’s no more wrong than any other (as far fetched as it may be but that’s for the follower to decide).
Those who benefit overtly financially from taking advantage of people in a weakened state are…morally destitute imo. Look, everyone needs a job and deserves to be paid a fair wage for the work they perform but if that job is ripping people off, that’s where I draw the line. Price gouging is the issue more than the job itself and also tax-exempt status of many of these organisations. But now we’re broaching into other realms…
- Comment on Kevin Rudd will step down as ambassador to the US a year early 3 weeks ago:
Saw this coming when they were in the US together recently. Rudd thinks Trump is an idiot, rightfully so, and has called him such which probably doesn’t help “the Australian cause” with the current US administration. But honestly, what would. I’d rather he stay and give them hell.

Australia was founded on crimes against humanity. Is it impossible to support both Australia and First Nations?

Only if you think in black and white without realising the world is all shades of grey.
Explain your reasoning and what you mean rather than “nah uh” as that doesn’t help the conversation

Hence the vegetables…or maybe the return of Eggboy.
But seriously, all those who just let them speak their mind or form a party, or invite them onto their shows or choosing to up engagement are making a choice to legitimatimise them. Giving them a platform to “provide a different opinion” is a choice. Not pushing back on their bigotry is a choice.
Choosing to rip them to shreds is a different choice. Not allowing them to spread their bigotry is another choice. Keeping them visible but not engaging with them is a choice.
They wouldn’t have the build-up to form a party, or if they did, it would be a miserable little party that would die soon afterwards. It doesn’t have to be difficult to fight fascists. It primarily takes pushback, ridicule and deplatforming. Not pushing them underground. People need to be exposed to their bigotry too so they realise the path they shouldn’t take - it’s literally a major reason we study political history or history in general. As humans, one of the reasons we’ve been successful as a species is pattern recognition - it’s what we do. We see similarities between times and feelings and movements. Hopefully so we can learn from them. Oftentimes we don’t and those who know their history can just sit back and shake their heads.

Anti-religion as a means to hurt others, yes. I’d not ever say I’m pro religion but I don’t mind religious people or people having a religion. I don’t judge them just because they have different feelings about God, only by their actions.
- Comment on Exclusive: pro-Israel campaign seeks removal of Palestinian DJ from WOMADelaide 3 weeks ago:
I’m anti-religion if it’s used to justify atrocities and/or thrust upon society. If it’s for their own internal peace and philosophy, then I have less qualms. But admittedly it’s rarely ever used in that way, and usually coercion and power are the main drivers

Legitimising them iss a choice. I’m keen on open ridicule and pelting with rotten vegetables. Most would steer clear of them then and still allow them to be open about their views and the benefits that provides. We just seem to have lost the ability to openly deride bigots for fear of hurting their feelings, when they openly want to destroy the fabric of our open and multicultural society - they don’t deserve that respect.

I always prefer my bigots to be out in the open. Easier to track who they are and what they’re up to if they’re not clouding it in secrecy.

These people should learn that there’s a vast difference between a number of things, and they all mean different things:
-
Country: Pro or Anti-Israel and Pro or Anti-Palestine
-
Political: Pro or Anti-Zionist and Pro or Anti-Hamas
-
Religion: Pro or Anti-Jewish and Pro or anti-Islamic
-
People: Pro or Anti-Israeli and Pro or anti-Palestinian
-
Actions: Pro or Anti-Genocide and Pro or Anti-rockets/guerilla attacks
None of these heading mean the same thing. You can have different opinions about the politics than you do about the people. That is allowed. Conflating them is antisemitic, and disingenuous. Those who campaign for blanket bans and censorship based on disagreements of politics are doing themselves and their causes a great disservice. Supporting Jews doesn’t mean you love genocide. Supporting Palestinians doesn’t mean you support Hamas.
e.g. I’m Pro-Israel and Palestine, Anti-Zionist and Hamas, Pro Jewish and Islamic, Pro Israeli and Palestinian, and Anti genocide and rockets.
Fed up with all these cunts and their thought crime.

Disband or go underground? Nobody decided “hmmm, maybe it’s wrong to be a bigot”

Though that does technically make them more communist than the LNP so number ALP above LNP but vote for whoever is more left above ALP.
