- Comment on iPhone photos 6 months ago:I think I tried this in the past and ran into some issues
- Comment on iPhone photos 6 months ago:I’m in the habit of running old iPhones and iPods so I guess I just like to make my life difficult. I don’t have a MacBook though which is why I was stuck. I’m going to plug it in to my Linux laptop and see how it works

- Comment on Mailfence email 6 months ago:Cool thanks, I’m going to switch my business email next year sometime after I use up my business cards so I will check it out. Someone posted a great link with overviews of the different European email providers that was helpful.
- Comment on Mailfence email 6 months ago:I ended up going with Mailfence and set it up yesterday. It looks pretty simple and straightforward. Proton was another good option but I liked that Mailfence uses sustainable energy for its servers. I decided anything would be better than Microsoft or Google so it’s nice to see more options available. Thank you for your reply.
- Comment on Mailfence email 6 months ago:I’m replying to my own post but I thought I would share a review that was very thorough and helpful. It compares Proton and Mailfence. I didn’t understand all the technical stuff but I understood enough.

- Comment on Email provider 6 months ago:Does Tuta use POP for its email service then?
- Comment on Email provider 6 months ago:I have personal and business needs (I’m an entrepreneur in the construction industry). I am just starting out and trying to keep operational costs down. Proton has a free option and then some pay plans as well so it could work. Some say they are carbon neutral with their servers which I also like since they all take electricity to run. Thank you for your questions to my questions, probably there will be more questions
- Comment on Email provider 6 months ago:Cool thanks, I saw that one on the website link someone else posted
- Comment on Email provider 6 months ago:So many choices! Good website, it shows sustainable choices and also integration to other apps
- Comment on Email provider 6 months ago:Thanks for your reply Durandal, this will definitely help is deciding. I was setting up some other apps and my Apple ID is still stuck with my ancient Hotmail address so was looking to tidy up things. I will continue my research, thanks

- Comment on Why I recommend against Brave. 7 months ago:I just installed Brave on my Ubuntu OS on my laptop to replace Chrome. It is running better than chrome was so far. Is there a way to setup Brave to safeguard against some of things mentioned or should I go with something like DuckDuckGo instead?
- Comment on I’m new to Lemmy 7 months ago:I was using Instagram and threads mostly but was wanting to stop using Meta based apps. Someone posted about the fediverse so I started using mastodon and Pixelfed. This is supposed to be a Reddit replacement is what some people said but I didn’t really use that before
