Only difference is that they now only have a fraction of their power.
OTOH they 100% have the same horrible attitude.
Like the declining US now doesn’t realise they aren’t top dog anymore, the Brits who have been surpassed by them for a century still delude themselves and think they can and should dictate what the world should do.
Glad we had Brexit.
Always causing trouble and wanting it their way.
Embarrassing. - Comment on In 6 hours it will be illegal to say "I support Palestine Action" in the UK, with a sentence of up to 14 years in prison. 49 minutes ago:
They even forbid the playing of “Don’t cry for me Argentina” during the wer to protect their Malvinas colony.

If that’s your reaction we need even more murder jets to do a fly over and the already ridiculously sized freedom flags will get even bigger!
But seriously, patriotism is an unnatural artificial and cultivated concept.
Indeed to be used by the state. - Comment on Is anyone else not feeling that patriotic for July 4? 2 days ago:

A lot of the fascist-lite party describe themselves that way.
But you are right they aren’t.
Real left in the US accounts for an insignificant percentage.
Sorry for that handfull of people but in general I’m with the other guy and hope that whole country goes to hell ASAP.
That would be great for the world. - Comment on Australian police beat an opposition politician so badly that she might lose an eye -- simply for being at an anti-genocide protest. 5 days ago:

None of the 2 mentioned are genocided.
And the fact you’re commenting about China, Iran, Russia, etc. neing authoritarian while there’s full on censorship in the west about this post is typical. You’re part of the deluded, pretentious 10% of the world calling themselves ‘the international community’ with ‘their western values’.
Already hated for centuries of imperialism and now this total support for genocidal maniacs.
Anyone in touch with people outside of the western online community knows they will not forget this either. - Comment on Australian police beat an opposition politician so badly that she might lose an eye -- simply for being at an anti-genocide protest. 5 days ago:

Same with Tik Tok, they don’t like news they can’t control and censor.

how is that greenwashing?
Then buying woodpellets from canada, shipping them to EU to fuel an ‘eco’ biomass installation is definitely greenwashing.
But you’re right, Sinophobia is also a pseudo-democrat, lib trait. - Comment on Last year China generated almost 3 times as much solar power as the EU did, and it's close to overtaking all OECD countries put together (whose combined population is 1.38 billion people) 1 week ago:

What I can say is the, name it Rheinland or W-European is less bad than the awful Anglo-countries indeed.
While there was a few decades of good social structures and conditions for workers post WW2 they have been destroying it slowly but surely.
I am Belgian, so I presume you’re a NL neighbour?
I know things have been going down (a lot of you here for free education and bcs buying NL houses are unafordable) and certainly for Germans even under Merkel who made a lot of people work low wage jobs with very little protection, throw away jobs.
And again it’s getting worse.
The NL government is awful and (extreme) right making awful laws.
Like Germany they are among the biggest bootlickers of the genocider state and the US terrorists. - Comment on ‘FuckLAPD.com’ Lets Anyone Use Facial Recognition to Instantly Identify Cops 1 week ago:
" Sorry, but I assume everybody here at least has a basic level of understanding on the political system"
I certainly do and know the pretty concept of separation of power, if you have trouble with spelling and forming coherent sentences that’s another matter.
When you say "most democratic countries " That means you believe in the solely theoretical concept of democracy, it doesn’t exist.
Or what countries do ypu think have that?
And LOL at using China as a negative example of FR.
England for one is far worse.
And no I do not mean the 1%ers which is a silly concept. I mean the regime/government whose rights and powers far exceed the powers of normal citizens.
Even when the theory/law doesn’t say that in your imaginary democratic state.
“a consuming focussed angelo-saxton country” again, what do you mean?
That is exactly what we in the west call democracies.
It is merely an ultra-capitalist ,so consumer and profit focused concept. The rights are there on paper. - Comment on ‘FuckLAPD.com’ Lets Anyone Use Facial Recognition to Instantly Identify Cops 1 week ago:
