It’s not just saturday morning cartoon villain evil.
It’s also incredibly fucking stupid.
Anything that you get better outcomes from by making people work longer, like assembly lines, can be done better by robots anyway, and of course you as capital owner don’t have to live life after your dominant hand gets crushed and amputated.
Anything that isn’t pure rote work, you get better results when people are not overworked and spending thirty hours a week sticking fucking pencils in your acoustic ceiling because nobody’s fucking brain works that long and hard.

Tonight, I’m gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive
And the world, I’ll turn it inside out, yeah
I’m floatin’ around in ecstasy
So don’t stop me now
Don’t stop me
‘Cause I’m havin’ a good time
Havin’ a good time
- Comment on What makes LLMs interesting to investors is not so much their usefulness, but the fact that the technology goes very well with the "just believe in me" approach. 1 week ago:
It is not obvious that LLMs are ever going to be much more than they are now, and a major change in architecture is going to take a long time to get up to this level, especially as all the money chases LLMs and the video cards let the magic smoke out day by day.
I agree that AI is going to eat the world and people really do have no understanding of the ground shaking under their feet. “Tomorrow will be basically like today, but with bigger TVs,” is a strong bias to be pushing against. But that all said, that does not mean that LLMs are it. It is entirely possible that their cap is slop and no higher.

Ah. Plurality, neither royal nor intended to include entities beyond this body.

Not… that this one is aware of?
What drama are you envisioning?

We actually fairly recently had a severe mental event, and since then, frequently read sarcasm as serious on the first pass and sometimes for some time after.
It fucking sucks from this side, too. We just go charging at someone and then have to be like, oh, uh, sorry, guess I was socially stupid!
We can at least take some solace in knowing we all hate the situation together?
- Comment on Refrigerator ads are finally here! 3 weeks ago:
We went on a huge rant about it to partners lately, about how the entire concept of advertising is defection to entities that exist enough to have experiences, an endlessly escalating Red Queen’s race of who can be louder, more memorable, more in your face, BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY
It’s infuriating and depressing by turns, and most of the entities around just brush it off as it gets louder and louder and louder.

Always wild when people seem confused about why you’d want to do this.
BECAUSE THESE ONES LOOKED AT YOUR SCREEN AND THE ARTICLE WAS TWO INCHES OF TEXT BETWEEN FIVE INCH ADVERTISER BARS BRENDA THAT’S WHY

On priors, you’re talking about the Cass report, which was in fact massively flawed, and I saw a great deal of discussion on it. Among other issues, they tossed out a lot of studies, and wrote the report from the stance that the only studies worth looking at would have been double blind studies. I’m not sure if you’ve considered this specifically, but it’s pretty damn hard to blind starting to grow boobs or facial hair. Cass, the supposedly neutral party conducting the study, was handing out copies of “Irreversible Damage”, a scaremongering antitrans book about how the poor helpless young “women” were being seduced by big trans. It was garbage, and there’s plenty of writeups on it.
