But I also do spend 8 hours a work day coding in Vim not on Linux. Just to clarify, I’m also not using Windows (gross).

LOL me writing this, using neovim and a split keyboard to make me feel smart. There is definitly some truth to this. But I never look down upon people for not using the technology I choose. People on here can be really annoying. It’s like the virtue signaling Linux.

Vim is kinda like a game. Except instead of a, s, w, d its h, j, k, l

- macOS on my personal laptop. As an app developer this is my only option
- raspbian on my home server
- daily drive iOS
- I dabble in Android on the side, but mostly just to test my apps
But I pretty much just need Tmux, Neovim, and a browser for 80% of my work and I’m happy. 10% of that is running an XCode build and the other 10% is macOS and iOS working really nicely together.

Ok I lied. I don’t actually use vim, I use neovim. But I don’t daily drive Linux or windows, and vim does kinda unify my local editing vs ssh experience. So only 50% a shitpost.

Enlighten me. What damage do you thinking they are doing by snooping in my streaming traffic. Aside from profiling me and predicting my every move lol.
As far as Lemmy instances, they are likely in a tough spot. You can’t build an enjoyable platform if it’s crawling with bots.

Honestly I’m mostly leeching off my friends lol. And my cell provider bundles Netflix.
It’s not super tedious. Every time something doesn’t work, I just add it to my VPN exclusion list. I don’t really care if my ISP snoops on Netflix tbh.
The VPN blocking doesn’t really bother me. It’s the enshitification of streaming services that bothers me. E.g. why does every paid service now trying to show me ads.
Btw, a lot of Lemmy instances also don’t play nice with a VPN. Probably to block bots. PieFed is likely the same.

No idea tbh. All I know is most streaming services block them now since they often have different content in different regions.

- Minecraft, to keep my ping down
- Streaming, because Netflix and others will aggressively block VPNs
