Perhaps sometime in the future, more people will try Linux and see how good it is. My recommendation based on my own experience:
Want stable, just working. Robust workhorse: Try Debian Want newest, nicest, good for gaming (need a tiny bit of tinkering if you run Nvidia): Try Fedora Want easy to install, but a bit older and slower, but requires no tinkering: Try PopOS
Don’t like settings, tweaks and fuzz: choose Gnome desktop 😊

- Comment on Meta axes VR game developers amid $4.97 billion Reality Labs loss 5 weeks ago:
It’s a pain to use! Account Chaos, is it my Facebook account, is it Meta my account? Can I share my purchases with other users on the headset (kids) … think so, but I have not figured out how (and yes, I am far beyond average techy). Just registering my credit card was such a pain that I really don’t think they want you to buy anything. … It is totally user unfriendly, absolute terrible!
The hardware is ok though 😅

Ohh, ok. That’s not good, and those are some good points. I actually thought Plex was a nice, open source, project and bought a Lifepass 🙈
It runs very smooth, and I really like the plexamp app for iphone. Does Jellyfin run as smooth, and have a music stream app?

- Comment on Palworld confirms ‘disappointing’ game changes forced by Pokémon lawsuit 1 month ago:
I don’t play Palworld, but still hate firms that behaves like this. Not buying Nintendo anymore 🥳 Emulators from here on :)
Patenting common stuff like this is just stupid! Think I read somewhere that Apple patented squares with rounded corners 😂 Hope Nintendo doesn’t use rounded corners in any of their in-game menus.
I though patents were ment to protect important original ideas. Stuff with impact.

- Comment on UK police chiefs call for ban on social media for under-16s 2 months ago:
Kids are growing up, testing limits and leaning, That is what kids do!
I think that a ban won’t fix this, but instead ban anonymous use. If you have to use your real name, most behave much nicer. You become accountable, and that is a good thing for everyone to learn.
Also perhaps a minimum age of say 13 could be a good idea - you need to reach a certain age before you are able to foresee consequences and understand how your actions effect others.
