Sorry, you’re right, I didn’t read the info box correctly.

You need Command & Conquer™ Remastered Collection on Steam for the game assets in order to play OpenRA.
Also, the appimage needs to be run as sudo, otherwise it crashes with a seg fault. - Submitted 5 days ago to risa@startrek.website | 0 comments

To be fair, not a lot going on needing a bigger brain 1+km below the water surface where this creature hangs out. Also, apparently it’s ass as in donkey, not the other kind.

I’ve never really wanted to use lutris and haven’t had a use case for it, but seeing it supporting emulation I’m starting to see it’s upsides.

Omg, this is huge! The “Voices of Vvardenfell” and “Tamriel Rebuilt Voices” projects are morally questionable as they use AI generated voices trained on the very little voice acting in morrowind without permission from the actors, but it certainly does bring a lot of life to a 22 year old game like Morrowind. And with 0.49 it’ll finally be possible with the proper LUA scripting support, which is great for non-windows gamers.

As someone fairly new to lemmy, I had to look into this drama with lemmy.world, lemmygrad and hexbear. It has definitely shed some light on who has the big stick and who likes to play police.

I had to find this theme (and tweak the colours a bit) to just stand the site. The userscript Lemmytools also helps a bit, albeit half broken.

It’s not. The characters on top are from a Danish childrens tv show called “Bamse og Kylling” ((teddy-)Bear and Chicken translated).

Reading about the Tulsa race massacre is so crazy, like World War 1 planes, some say up to 12, others at least 8 of them doing stuff like: “… turpentine or nitroglycerin bombs being dropped and men shooting from planes”

- Comment on Does Aphantasia exist for senses other than vision? 3 weeks ago:
Who was the lady that was deaf and blind, and famously overcame those?
Might be Helen Keller, very famous deafblind activist. A quote from wikipedia kind of shows how hard communicating when senses are limited:
The next month, Keller made a breakthrough, when she realized that the motions her teacher was making on the palm of her hand, while running cool water over her other hand, symbolized the idea of “water”. Writing in her autobiography, The Story of My Life, Keller recalled the moment:
I stood still, my whole attention fixed upon the motions of her fingers. Suddenly I felt a misty consciousness as of something forgotten—a thrill of returning thought; and somehow the mystery of language was revealed to me. I knew then that w-a-t-e-r meant the wonderful cool something that was flowing over my hand. The living word awakened my soul, gave it light, hope, set it free!
- Comment on Does Aphantasia exist for senses other than vision? 3 weeks ago:
Just last week I was looking up ADHD and autism in blind people, but I was also questioning whether blind people could have aphantasia. Or rather, how does blind people perceive roundness or a circle in their mind? They know what it feels like at least, so is it tied to some other sense? I’m guessing blind people have a way of mapping out surroundings and 3D space, but explaining how a person thinks about it is as hard to describe as whether two people perceive the same colours the same way.

Took me a little while to figure out where to put the .ipk3 file (easiest is ~/.config/gzdoom) but otherwise easy enough to get going using the flatpak. Installing the regular gamefiles + spear of destiny (from my GOG version) was also pretty easy, but I wonder where one can get Return to Danger and Ultimate Challenge 🤔
Either way, good shout, plays excellently, although seems like hitting enemies is harder in this version than the original, at least when they’re far away.
