- Comment on Rocket League is adding Easy Anti-Cheat, Psyonix say Linux will still be supported with Proton 1 week ago:
True, I was aware of the bots out now. I also follow RLBotOfficial on twitch who have had bot tournaments for years. Originally it was just hardcoded bots that wasn’t all that impressive, but with LLM technology they’ve gotten so incredibly good.

Wake me up when they make a Unreal Tournament 2003 installer.

I’ve never really seen cheaters in RL, but then again, I stopped played ranked like 5 years ago.
It does sound like good news that they’re not enforcing anticheat that’ll make it harder on us Linux gamers.I wonder how their “port to UE5”-project is going…

I just saw a video on this and they speculated that Veronika used the brush part for thicker parts of her skin, and the handle part for places that were more sensitive.

For the sake of your blood pressure, don’t open the link to the X post and don’t look at the comments. Nothing but chuds and troglodytes there.

- Comment on Interplay co-founder and pioneering game developer Rebecca Heineman dies at 62 3 months ago:
Shows how fast life goes by. She came out at 40 years old, only got to live 1/3rd of her life as gender she felt was the right one. Her wife, Jennell Jaquays, also a trans woman, died last year in January. Sad story.
- Comment on The popular Easy Effects app swaps from GTK over to Qt, QML and Kirigami with a big new release 3 months ago:
Ohh. Kinda niche news, but I’m really happy to hear this.
Also, whaaat! I hadn’t opened it today, and the update is already out. As a plasma user it’s really nice to be rid of the gnome look.
It did scrap my effects though, which wasn’t many, just bass enhancing and stereo tools. - Comment on King Charles Unveils UK's First LGBTQ Military Monument 3 months ago:
You’re right, the archive link does work now.
- Comment on King Charles Unveils UK's First LGBTQ Military Monument 3 months ago:
The archived link doesn’t work.
Also, they never even mention what the memorial is called in the article. And this is supposed to honor LGBTQIAP+?! Get the fuck out of here.
If they wanted to soft launch LGBTQIAP+ stuff, they should’ve started with with the genius that broke an Alan Turing based monument. Because ENGLAND forced Alan to commit suicide with how they treated him. - Comment on Bought to you by the central limit theorem society 4 months ago:
Aaand that’s how statistics work. But you should always be wary of the sample size! Especially in comparison to the “thing”, like if 1000 people were asked questions and they came from India, that’d be a really bad survey.

I don’t even get why people are addicted to them. I watch at most 5 a day. And most days 0. I guess that’s the advantage of desktop, the controls aren’t dumbed down to just flicking my finger across the screen.

I was kind of hopeful seeing as Paradox was backing it, but alas.

Oof, it’s not getting good reviews. Apparently there’s no inventory, no items and no roleplay elements. I don’t even know what the game is then, but it doesn’t seem like a successor to the original game.
- Comment on Fight the nazis to rescue your dog in the new free shooter Darkenstein 3D out now 4 months ago:
I’m a middle aged man now, I was around when 3D acceleration became a thing for PC, first with Voodoo 1 and so on and so forth. And let me tell ya, you don’t need 18 gigs for these graphics. Or maybe you do, maybe it takes like 200 hours to complete the game, idk. I’m just complaining about the compression.
- Comment on Fight the nazis to rescue your dog in the new free shooter Darkenstein 3D out now 4 months ago:
Jeez, 18.6 gigs for a game that looks like that. I’m going to play it anyway of course, but I wonder why, with low res textures and models, that it takes that much space. Engine?

- Comment on 'This is definitely my last TwitchCon': High-profile streamer Emiru was assaulted at the event, even as streamers have been sounding the alarm about stalkers and harassment 4 months ago:
If by dealt with immediately they let him go and just gave him a 30 day ban initially, then yes. She had to talk to her manager who then talked to Twitch who then upped that ban to a permanent one. And I don’t even think the police has been involved yet.
Amazon wanted to brush this under the carpet…

Yeah, the “elusive creators” is a tough nut. If some company went bankrupt 10-20 years ago, and no trace of who holds the IP etc. that’s a lot of detective work.
