Oh damn, these are good choices. I think it’s even funnier that Mahiro is actually a grown man and Jahy is an adult demon too!
Wait… Akatsuki starts as a man too…
Only conclusion is that Hakase must be a grown man.

Now you have to pay to get ads! Because paid tier gets ads anyway for Crunchyroll products with no way to turn that crap off. Huzzah!

Oh snaps, I forgot that existed, mostly because it used to suck. But if Bing’s better than Google now…
I’m glad I asked and sorry for being such an ass. Well, mostly sorry ;)

The results were wrong
Yes… maybe I should have emphasized that the SEARCH results were wrong. And have you used Google lately? It forces the AI on you. You can’t turn that shit off. At least not easily.
But yeah, apparently if I had asked Bing it seems that it would have gotten it. Who would’ve thought that Bing would now be better than Google? But even Bing forces Copilot on you.
So please, oh master of internet searching, what search engine doesn’t force AI on you? I guess I could pretend it’s 1999 and use Lycos…

To save anyone else a click, “The manga will resume on January 12, 2026.”
Basically it went on hiatus and then animenewsnetwork jumped the gun saying it ended.

The argument of “just watch subs” falls flat when they’re using AI to do soulless subtitling too.
Jesus fuck I hate AI so much. The other day Google AI literally gaslit me. I remembered a joke I had heard in a movie but couldn’t remember the movie title. Google used to be really good at this kinda thing so I Googled it. The results were wrong and the AI was like “It’s Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates”.
Now, I’ve never seen Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates so I knew that couldn’t be the movie so I told it “no that’s not it”. And what did the AI do? Did it say “oh, well then maybe it’s this?” Did it say it didn’t know? No, it doubled down insisting it MUST be Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
I COMMANDED it to stop suggesting it was Mike and Dave because it was definitely not it and it STILL kept saying that was the movie.
So I asked ChatGPT. Yeah, I know it’s another AI but I was at my wits end here and Google was undeniably wrong. Anyway, ChatGPT figured it out instantly.
So I went back to Google and was like, “ChatGPT figured it out. It was ‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’ you stupid AI.”
Rather than admit it was wrong, Google then gaslit me saying I was misremembering the movie and that it was Mike and Dave Nerd Wedding Dates.
I was furious so I told Google to prove it to me. Then it got all vague like" well, I searched my database and web records." I asked for the specific records. It gives mr the movie script for Mike and Dave. I do a simple word search and do not find the joke anywhere in the script.
When I point this out to Google it was like" well, maybe it was adlibbed or not in that early version if the script, but it’s in discussions of the movie so I know I’m right."
“Show me these discussions”
“Sorry, there are no discussions”
“So you hallucinated the whole thing and completely made it up?”
“Yes”
Fuck you, Google.

Yeah, they’re all these hypothetical arguments about perverts in public bathrooms that statistically never happen. FFS, gender neutral bathrooms exist without issues in many places. I remember one particularly stupid argument someone was making about wanting to protect their daughter and I was just like “wait, your argument is that you want to ban yourself from going into the bathroom with her? Did you even think this through? Because even in your fantasy land that doesn’t make sense”

Alright, I did some Googling and asked ChatGPT for some help (this is really what stuff like ChatGPT is good for, not stealing art and writing bad novels). And even though ChatGPT was a f*cking moron initially suggesting things like NCC-1701 even though I specifically said it had to be XX-##, it finally came up with a decent list:
MC-75 : The Mon Calimari Cruiser from Star Wars (There are also other MC cruisers like MC30, MC40, MC80, MC85, and MC95) EF76 : Nebulon-B Escort Frigate, also from Star Wars YF-19 : Prototype Macross fighter YF-21 : Macross Plus fighter VF-25 : Macross Frontier fighter
A somewhat unique (albeit wrong) suggestion ChatGPT gave was BT-7274 from Titanfall 2… you could shorten it to BT-72. Following on the idea of droids I got:
HK-47 : The loveable and homicidal assassination droid from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. IG-11 : Another Assassin droid, tasked with killing Grogu in Mandalorian.
Finally, one silly recommendation ChatGPT gave me was “SG-88” as a reference to Stargate and Back to the Future. I don’t hate it.

For me it’s Reincarnated as a Vending Machine. A lot of people like it and it’s already in season 3 but I couldn’t do it. And I’m normally a huge sucker for isekai. I gave it 3 episodes and I was done.

- Comment on In your opinion, which anime has the most badass villains? 8 months ago:
Overlord. Ains Ooal Gown is undoubtedly the villain.
- Comment on What are your top three recommendations for someone new to anime? 8 months ago:
This is a tough one. If I was recommending anime to someone brand new to anime then there are a few guidelines I’d follow:
- Can’t take too long to develop. So while things like Frieren are undoubtedly amazing, the slow start means I wouldn’t recommend it to a Newbie.
- Must be palitable for a wide range of audiences. Panty and Stocking, Elfen Lied, and Devilman Crybaby might be a great shows but they’re pretty in-your-face and could be off-putting to people.
- Must be easily digestible. One Piece might be a great anime but no one is going to want to start on a series with over a thousand episodes. Likewise stuff like Serial Experiments Lain and Evangelion are good but far too out there for a first timer.
To that end I usually start people with Your Name. It’s movie length so easily digestible. The animation is beautiful. The plot is relatively unique while still being easy to understand. And pretty much anyone can enjoy the mix of slice-of-life and scifi.
I’ve also had a lot of success with Ouran High School Host Club. Everyone can understand the concept of a school but then the inclusion of the wacky rich people makes it a fun time.
Finally, back in the day I got a lot of people into anime with Beck. It’s still pretty good even by today’s standards but another anime about music or a band would also work since people tend to understand music or band dynamics in general. Possibilities include K-On or Your Lie in April.
Anyway, just my thoughts.
- Comment on What is your best supernatural anime? 8 months ago:
“Another” left quite an impression on me. Supernatural Suspense Horror and I haven’t seen anyone else mention it yet.
Angel Beats is one of my all-time favorites.
Dan Da Dan is an obvious recent pick. Your Name is amazing if you haven’t seen it.
If we want to get into more Shonen offerings there’s Chainsaw Man, Tokyo Ghoul, Jujutsu Kaizen, and others.
- Comment on Anime with alternate orders 9 months ago:
The most obvious one that comes to mind besides The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is the movie duo of “To Every You I’ve Loved Before” and “To Me, The One Who Loved You”. In fact picking which movie to watch first ties into the plots of the movies themselves in a way.
- Comment on How Anime Fans Stumbled upon a Mathematical Proof 9 months ago:
No, the function is exponential so it would very quickly reach the bounds of modern computing limitations. The best analogy I can think of is folding a sheet of paper. With each fold the thickness doubles and it quickly becomes impossible to fold more than about 7 times.
