CiOS is one of the Auralnauts, so this is with his full support. In fact, he seems to have removed (or at least hidden) the originals from his personal channel.

If you’re the type to have added the old versions to a “Favorites” list or something similar, you may wish to go through the Auralnauts channel and add the reuploads.

Though if the Paramount/Warner merger goes through I wonder if they’ll move the license to DC, which will then be “in-house” for them. (DC is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery)

Not that they would be any less capable of doing a Year One comic if they so desire. And until then IDW is kind of doing a Star Trek: Legacy-ish comic (or two) already, so I don’t see why not Year One.

Honestly, Deadline is misusing the word “pilot” here.

“The Cage” was a pilot. “Where No Man Has Gone Before” was a pilot. “Mudd’s Women” and “The Omega Glory” were both pitched as pilots but weren’t used as such.

“The Man Trap” was the series premiere, but it wasn’t a pilot.

The Final Reflection which, although rendered non-canon by events

I don’t think it was ever “canon,” though maybe in the early eighties the novels were viewed as canon by some before TNG? I was too young at that point to really be confident. Mainly mentioning it in case you meant something closer to “incompatible with canon.”

Curious what “events” you’re referring to in any case. Not familiar enough with the novel to say for sure.
