- Comment on We don't use the word 'fascist' because we wish harm on anybody. We use it because words mean things. 1 week ago:
They actually believed the early warnings, that’s why they rushed to his rescue. but they were not exaggerated, they were lies. There were no wolves, he only wanted the attention.
This is not what happened here with the word “fascist” or “Nazi”. These people were always fascists, but really intelligent ones so they knew how to gaslight anyone into thinking they weren’t. Maybe sometimes they didn’t know it till the end, but that doesn’t make them less fascist.
So if you wanted to use an analogy, maybe you would say the boy in the story was attacked multiple times by wolves dressed like sheep. He cried for help and people rushed to his rescue. But the people always were really disappointed in him, cause there were never wolves, only sheep. And in the end everybody gets eaten, because the so called sheep actually were wolves.
I mean don’t get me wrong, I know what you tried to say, but your analogy was technically wrong.

Meanwhile, given the Trump administration’s anti-regulation stance on the matter, companies like OpenAI are unlikely to be strongly motivated to implement effective guardrails to keep their AIs in check.
Hey dont worry, capitalism will save us all. The market will just regulate itself, cause I mean who would want the end of the world? Of course all ai companies will implement “guardrails” because of their implicit wish to keep us and themselves safe.
And no tech bro with half a brain would ever experiment carelessly towards the means of getting more famous and or rich.
Never.

Unbelievable that anyone printed this in either online or offline form of text. A humane alternative to genocide, cause no one would really like the biodiesel solution.
Good to see that democracy actually seems to be the foe for these people. Let’s try and keep it that way…

Looks like an endless spiral of gun violence. A bit like Schrödingers gun ownership law. You are allowed to own a gun and you are allowed to protect yourself and your family with a gun - but then you are not allowed to do so when the police is at your door, cause they have the right to shoot you if you own a gun and use it to protect yourself.
Just wow. But guns are never the problem, am I right?
Ah and of course ACAB, like seriously

- Comment on GOP Proposes $4.5 Trillion Tax Giveaway to the Rich While 'Ransacking' Food Stamps and Medicaid 7 months ago:
I didn’t know what to think about that. I don’t think that low income Republican voters will feel the face eating of the leopards they voted for as what it is.
And I’m not even American, but I can see that this exact same thing is going to happen here in Europe/Germany as well. People will vote for the extreme right parties that have all their propaganda on how they are going to give money to the small people and make the country more secure - and at the same time their political programs and past behavior screams “we will give tax cuts mainly to the ultra rich and never cared about the low income people”.
And they still get voted for. We just love us some good old fashioned fascism. Maybe I need to change my mindset and just be like “let’s gooooo”
- Comment on Google officially changes the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America on Maps 8 months ago:
In the German translation it still says “Golf von Mexiko (Golf von Amerika)”. But still crazy how only one American company seems to be necessary to integrate changes of that geographical magnitude. As dumb as it is, it gets done.
