A full on invasion will be much more difficult than Irak. The US probably could do this but it’s going to be costly, forever and very unpopular. US military would be bound up for a long time.
Good question what the goal is supposed to be now. Trump may just declare it over somehow.

People had 56k modems and no one had any problems, my Gameboy was monochrome and you saw nothing in the sun, no problems there either…

That’s a 15 year old TV at least and of course you don’t see a difference on that. My 4k is at least 6 years old. If I bought one now I would not be able to buy lower res.
DVD is pal or ntsc and if you played that on a monitor the picture is as small as phone. It’s like the lowest SVGA res

Many old movies that are restored perfectly. Yes it’s a lot of film grain but you can also see a lot in the background etc. Also id rather have the film grain.

Never started streaming music, makes no sense music is so collectible on HDD. I have 25 year old files, 128kb sucks lol but survived very easily.
- Comment on DVDs are the new vinyl records: Why Gen Z is embracing physical media 2 weeks ago:
How do you even play them? I could only see myself taking these media, ripping them and putting them back on the shelf.
Which is a nostalgic hobby
- Comment on DVDs are the new vinyl records: Why Gen Z is embracing physical media 2 weeks ago:
You can pull it on HDD and that should be good enough preservation

Its Blu-ray not DVD right? DVD was an impossibly low resolution, that really isn’t fun to watch today.
Blu ray works perfectly on today’s hardware

The I’m sorry part is always great, I always wanted an apology by an LLM not that it works as specified 😆
It can be like your least competent colleague on roids

This is running in an older source engine, not q1

The thing is great just dl the standalone, at first I thought I need to get quake1 from gog and all that.
It’s like quake1 in source engine but better levels and higher difficulty. Soundtrack also very quake1 a bit NIN like

It’s not just Trump, it’s an entire dream team of fascists. The GOP has never distanced themselves from maga, meaning that is the new line.
They did not vote for Harris, not going to vote for 90 year old Sanders or AOC. So strategically (as in long term) the world is not going to trust the US anymore.
- Comment on The world is trying to log off U.S. tech 5 weeks ago:
A lot of lock in effects and stuff but yes how can anyone in their right mind trust again in the next 5-10 years?
It’s like believing Putin will give us a special price on gas next year.

They could make shooters better again but don’t really care to do so. The bigger franchises are so that you need less skill and easier entry for casual players.
A thing that annoys me a lot is the soundscape in modern FPS that somehow makes it impossible to hear if someone is right behind you.
You need more indie titles to hear footsteps in tactical FPS.

Isn’t it alleged that China goes for specific use cases and not general intelligence?
Maybe that’s the way to go and not the gamble that the US and western companies are doing.

- Comment on Sam Altman Says If Jobs Gets Wiped Out, Maybe They Weren’t Even “Real Work” to Start With 4 months ago:
The jobs did not start out that way, I guess these people have been tossed to the side and are not where the action currently is.
Yet they are still employed because the boss does not understand what they are doing and they might embellish their contributions etc.
There are so many people who do little, drink free coffee talk to everyone and are seen as very social, liked by everyone etc. They do fucking nothing, I know a handful of them.

It’s arranging all that with emails, phone calls with a fake voice etc. Maybe some useful idiots that do pimping and stuff in case it’s unable to do that 🤔
