I replied to an answer here. Not to the article.
By that, I referred to the quality of this answer concerning the past, to be more precise to the last three years, we‘ve been using Matrix at work, struggeling with these shortcomings.
Your personal shortcomings concerning either the use of Lemmy and/or discussions in general are sad, but not my problem.

I did. I refered to the current version and the comment that is has always been a great product.

Next question would be:
Who pays for disposal and dismantling old nuclear power plants? Might also be relevant for @Eximius@lemmy.world claim. I guess it‘ll be the tax payer. And then we might have a different answer to the question of financial sense.
Privatizing gains and collectivizing costs still seems to be en vogue.

I‘ve been using a Hetzner Storage Box with Kopia via SFTP and were able to completely saturate my 500 Mbit/s upload.

Teacher here. No professional affiliation with PCs, Linux or self-hosting. Started out with a Synology NAS and got my first experiences with Linux, CLI, Docker, etc. Switched to Unraid last fall and I self-host quite a lot of services now. 100% self-taught.
