The fact that we can just look at this and just act like it’s normal is wild, guess I shouldn’t be surprised since it’s 2025 but like…Boston Dynamics only had the dogs 10 years ago.
- Comment on Angry, disappointed users react to Bluesky's upcoming blue check mark verification system 3 weeks ago:
idk man I haven’t seen anyone complaining about it on Bluesky
This is a net positive, nice to have a social media where verification checks are…actually used for verifying the person behind an account

I think I’m slowly starting to understand the use cases of these small form factor computers. Pretty much Swiss Army knives in computer form.
Makes sense that people are trying to sell them commercially now, even if they are bit experimental and don’t have a defined use case as of yet.
Plus it just looks cool.
- Comment on Scientists move to Bluesky, transitioning away from X and Meta platforms 2 months ago:
Going to play devil’s advocate here.
Bluesky is just…better than any Fediverse microblogging platform. In terms of UI, discoverability, and keeping a balance of users in the community.
Mastodon sucks for regular people. And none of the other better platforms like Firefish ever gain enough steam to beat Mastodon because of existing issues in the structure of the Fediverse and ActivityPub (this also includes Mastodon itself to an extent).
- Comment on Mastodon is working to add the controversial 'quote posts' feature | TechCrunch 2 months ago:
I’m shocked people are actually against Mastodon adding a common feature. Seems like one of the gripes with it for ages has been the lack of features and polish (I personally stopped using Mastodon in part because of this)
Glad they are going ahead with it…it doesn’t really hurt anything and isn’t any different than just screenshotting posts.

It’s just like Peertube. Cool concept in theory, but breaks down once you consider the less fun parts of it (storage volume).
Gonna be really hard to figure out how to make solid Fedi alternatives to image/video-based social media.
