take it easy, dude. don’t all caps me because I don’t share your views on BPD.
also I love how you say “this is not about you” when literally you made it about you and BPD 😂 and then fabricated some murder suicide plot for some reason.
lol.
- Comment on Is my girlfriend gaslighting me? 23 hours ago:
also why does it have 22 upvotes? very scary.
- Comment on Is my girlfriend gaslighting me? 23 hours ago:
can we stop villainizing a mental illness please? this is the most blatant overblown reaction ever.
also, his girlfriend is just batshit. just say that. it’s obvious, but you don’t need to insult those who suffer just because it’s a convenient tool to use as a villain.
BPD sucks all the way around. don’t use it as a catch-all for your hatred.

whoaaa. that looks amazing. I added it to my wishlist. I dont know if that was what op was looking for but I’m certainly glad you linked it!
- Comment on Dragon Age: The Veilguard will let you bring over your choices from Inquisition - whether you still have your save or not 2 weeks ago:
I like this more than the Keep, honestly. It means I can play another playthrough using a different world state the second time without having to import one from another game. Thus benefits both older Dragon Age players who have a bunch of different world states, or new players who want to see the consequences of choosing other world states.
this is so good. I’m amazed it took them this long to make it an ingame thing.
Would be cool if they re-released Inquisition and Kirkwall to have those options as well. (I can dream, ok?! lol)

dragon age as well.
- Comment on Larian have two new games in the works, "fueled by the very same fire" as Baldur's Gate 3 2 months ago:
that is true. I tend to usually think in terms of individual gamers, I guess. I’m not very young and 95% of my friends game, so I’m sure I’m some kind of exception.
my original comment was just me agreeing that I’d be interested in whatever they make next and that is true in this moment. I think its ok to be excited for things while knowing it could all go tits up.
life doesn’t have to have reminders that things could suck later. they don’t suck now. and I’m excited for what’s to come.

you’re assuming that I’m not informed about the goings-on and assuming that I’d be loyal to any company for an extended period of time. This is not the case.
I’m simply someone who likes to play well-made games that strike my fancy. And I support the company that made it. And at this time, the company who made it have some views about the gaming industry that I agree with.
You’re trying to hold me accountable for what might happen in future. I’m asking that you respect my intelligence enough to know when I’m being manipulated. I’ve been a gamer a very long time. We know. Which is why I can happily say I’d love to see what Larian comes up with next. and I support them.
I am capable of understanding the difference between fanboy and supporter. Thank you, though.

normally I would agree with you, except this is company that has actually walked the walk. not just talked the talk.
if anything, we should be encouraging more consumers to support companies like this one rather than companies that hurt their interests as a consumer.
brand loyalty can be toxic. surely. but by not backing those that support our interests, we really do them a disservice.
blind brand loyalty is toxic. informed loyalty is a different thing entirely.

literally. they could make a game about anything and I’d be invested.
- Comment on Desperate TikTok lobbying effort backfires on Capitol Hill 3 months ago:
actually you do get to tailor your experience on tiktok. you can absolutely follow people. you even have the option to have the algorithm that’s tailored to your liked content (fyp) or specifically look at a feed of your followed accounts.
You said that tiktok tailors every bit of what happens on the app.
I have some news for you… so does youtube and every other social media platform out there.
people who don’t use tiktok seem to not really understand that 95% of the content on it is from youtube or shares creator spaces with youtube and other social media. my fyp and follows are mostly artists, musicians, funny people, animal videos and I even get some news as well.
tiktok is weirdly villanized by those that don’t even use the app.
I agree with you that social media is bad, but tiktok isn’t really the world ending propaganda machine it’s portrayed to be. I don’t know if I’d consider funny videos and anime edits to be “poisoning the minds of people”.
- Comment on Desperate TikTok lobbying effort backfires on Capitol Hill 3 months ago:
it’s not. all social media has the same risks but tiktok is obviously the worst because it’s Chinese.
I guess a video platform with content identical to youtube is bad if it’s Chinese.

if we could afford to sue them, we would.
- Comment on House panel unanimously approves bill that could ban TikTok 3 months ago:
are we going to ban youtube as well? which has more than tiktok? or lemmy for that matter? or any other forms of social media?
people who fear monger tiktok make me worry that they fail to see the bigger picture.
tiktok isn’t the problem. the fact that propaganda is monetized is the problem. and banning tiktok will fix nothing whatsoever.

I don’t think it’s quite the world ending issue you do. That seems to be the basis of our disagreement.
Do whatever you feel you need to do to protect your children from whatever.
But the intensity of your argument for a simple clickbaity article is a bit too much for me to want to continue talking about it in this manner. sorry, bud.
- Comment on Childhood disrupted: is the internet damaging young people’s development? 4 months ago:
I did. I agree with them.
- Comment on Childhood disrupted: is the internet damaging young people’s development? 4 months ago:
I didn’t say to keep kids away from it. I said teach them how to be safe while online. The internet can be a fantastic resource for kids in most circumstances.
by your logic, walking down the street is dangerous for a child so obviously the solution is to never let them walk down the street ever. rather than walking beside them and teaching them how to be smart and avoid dangers.
the phrase “social media is bad for kids” is too broad for it to really mean anything without context anyway.
if you want to look at it that way, most things that exist are bad for kids.
- Comment on Childhood disrupted: is the internet damaging young people’s development? 4 months ago:
with a bit of teaching what to avoid and having the proper perspective, I don’t see why it’s a terrible thing.
I certainly wouldn’t compare it to smoking, however.

I’ve had a much more enjoyable time on freetube because of this, actually. unlike youtube who feeds you content based on what makes them the most money, it tends to actually show you videos that are relevant to what you’re watching. whether it has millions of views or 100.
it feels like the smaller communities are a little more warm and fun.
