The code doesn’t actually parse the markdown in the post at all, so it only censors your comment if it’s a link to common gif hosters, and posted in a way that doesn’t actually render the gif.
It’s laughable because it’s both attempting to be draconian and implemented poorly

In fact I am not aware of any particular reason to avoid running PieFed, but anyway even presuming that such exists, defederation is definitely not among them.
The injection of the developers biases into the software, the misleading error messages, and the block behavior behaving like a shadow ban are more than enough reasons to not touch the software.

Elon Musk is a nazi, I don’t think anyone disagrees, but it was because the post directly linked to a video rather than an article that it was likely removed.

While talking about the ongoing genocide in gaza you were minimizing past genocides of indigenous people simply because those have already been completed. You deserved the ban, and it was temporary.

You were temp banned, usually those are for a few days for the person to cool down. The removed comment was part of a chain advocating for the collective punishment of russian civilians

it’s cause you said I wasn’t really trans until I showed you literal proof; and still you call me ‘trans’. People can still be trans without being on meds, I know more than enough homeless or tenuously housed trans girls who struggle to keep their prescriptions filled regularly- or at all. Guess what, plenty of them wouldn’t agree with your politics either. Doesn’t make them no longer trans.
Deciding that you’re the cis arbiter of who’s trans and who isn’t does make you a transphobe though.
