Honestly, a little grass makes everything better. I’m a fan of putting grass in brownies, but still, no beans, please.

Lady, I don’t know how to break this to you, but this is a shitpost community. There’s no room here for facts and logic. Touch grass.
- Comment on PiKVM Build and Deploy 10 months ago:
Yes. This is home-made out-of-band management, like HP’s iLO, Dell’s iDRAC, or generic IPMI. Not only is it a virtual KVM (keyboard/video/mouse), you can pass the host’s power button through this device so you can remotely power on or reset a hung or powered-off system, or mount and boot from a virtual floppy or ISO to completely reinstall the remote system.

Is this a concern with electric vehicles? I haven’t heard of this being an epidemic that we even need to worry about.

Oh, nice. Yeah, I’m fine with my content being searchable on the great uneddit databases. That’s just the nature of the internet – anything you make public should be assumed to be forever public. It sounds like my deleted content won’t be making Spez advertising dollars when people search my old subreddit haunts, which was my goal in deleting my stuff in the first place.
- Comment on ‘Front page of the internet’: how social media’s biggest user protest rocked Reddit 10 months ago:
Yeah, I don’t see anything there about reddit undeleting their deleted posts/comments. Many of us burned our profiles to the ground when we left, but I hadn’t heard of them reverting our edits. I would expect that news to blow up as much as the last time Spez did something like that (may the gods erase his soul and the people forget his name).

The first frame has a cocktail glass and one character holding a non-clear drink. Obviously not a gym. The drinks would indicate that it is a bar or a party (or even a party at a bar) and two outfits of wildly different concepts would tell the story that it is most likely a fancy dress party.
So I would assume fancy dress party at a bar, house, or other venue. I guess technically it could even be a party being thrown at a gym, but there are no contextual clues that would indicate that.

Do you have evidence or just conspiracy theory gossip?

Are you trying to buy these sound effects libraries, license them, or steal them? Just because a company goes bankrupt or out of business doesn’t mean it’s properties become a free-for-all. Somebody still owns those rights.

I use Private Internet Access (PIA). I’m honestly not sure where it rates on the “good vpns” scale, but I get port forwarding through open VPN on Linux and my connection is still pretty fast. It does what I need it to do.

I use transmission, but share ratios are pretty common and I’m almost positive qBittorrent had the same options when I last used that one several years ago.
Look in your settings for “Set share limit to” “ratio: x.xx”
You can set a global share limit in your settings, and you can modify the setting for specific torrents when you add them or any time by digging into the torrent’s properties.
My defaults are to seed to 2.0 ratio, and when I queue something up manually from one of my private trackers, I manually change the setting for that specific torrent to permaseed.
- Comment on Not noice 10 months ago:
My seeding rules are simple. If it comes from one of my private trackers or it contains Shia LaBeouf, I seed it forever. Everything else is auto-removed from my client when ratio reaches 2.0.

Yes, chili is a fantastic source of iron, but many people don’t realize that bean stew is also very irony!

- Comment on New Lemmy trend incoming 10 months ago:
Today you learned! It’s always a wonderful feeling to learn new things!
Chocolate, cocoa, and cinnamon are flavorings and spices. Those are allowed in Chile. Chili is meat, tomato, onion, and spices. And yes, you can use chili as a base for a nice veggie stew with the addition of beans or q lot of other veggies!
Cheers!
- Comment on New Lemmy trend incoming 10 months ago:
That’s not chili, I see beans, so it appears to be a bean soup or bean stew, but I concur, a bit of cocoa and/or a touch of cinnamon can really elevate a chili or bean stew.

Domain naming authorities require identification for the registration of domains. You cannot purchase domains anonymously. You can pay Njalla and they own the domain, and they’ll tell you that you can control it, but you have no rights to it in any kind of dispute.

I’ve been running a script every 60 seconds for 2 months now as a cron job and it still hasn’t been able to create a VM in their US datacenter. I just have a log full of “insufficient host capacity” errors.
- Comment on Aliens decide to communicate with us 10 months ago:
That’s fair. If you decide you want to identify your religion as Pagan, you are free to do so. It is much less fitting for our beliefs, tenets, and morals than Satanism, but may be a better fit for your beliefs.
- Comment on Aliens decide to communicate with us 10 months ago:
What do you think Satanism is about? I model my behavior on a rational, scientific, and humanistic worldview and I fight against superstition. One of the predominant superstitious organisations in my country have a mythical being that espouses all of these same traits and they call it Satan. It’s convenient for us to refer to ourselves using their own language, so they instantly know we are against anti-humanism and superstitious oppression.

I was shooting heroin and reading “The Fountainhead” in the pilothouse of my privately owned aircraft carrier when a call came in. I put a quarter in the radio to activate it. It was France. “Hey France, are you subscribed to the American security apparatus?”

Geothermal is not quite to the point where we can represent it with a whole number percentage value, but it’s getting there! If we’re going to include sub-1% generators, burning wood has geothermal beat out at 0.8%. Geothermal is cool, though!

I savescummed nethack as a kid, telling myself I was learning how to play. Then one day I decided to play on an online server where that wasn’t a possibility. There is nothing like the feeling of achieving a goal the legit way. I learned soooo much more during those many perma-death runs than I ever did by save-scumming, and I’m actually proud of those ascensions.

Stupid? Mayb3 if verifying “facts” is your sole metric. I know people who aren’t very media savvy who fall for some stupid propaganda, but they could empty my car’s engine bay and put it back together again and have it cranking the same day. Or you can drop them in any body of water in a 250km radius and they’ll know what fish can be caught there and be able to hook an edible-sized one in half an hour or less. We don’t all have the same skill sets, but we ain’t all “stupid”.
