I’m starting to think it’s part of a growing Lemmy dialect
- Comment on I know this is PatientGamers, but can we discuss how even the current generation of consoles seems to ask for patience as they aren't that many games 4 years after their release? 3 months ago:
oh I never hear people talk about docking their steam deck! Thats very enticing.

Part of the value of the Switch is being able to put it in the dock and connect to TV. It’s a lot harder to co-op when you only have the little screen.

I really like the running gag that if Turnip Boy reads something about taxes, he’ll tear the paper in half without a thought

to be honest, I had to fight autocorrect to misspell charcuterie for the joke

Yay I love chartut… the uh sharcutery… the meat and cheese on a board

I wouldn’t say the humor replies on Australian slang (outside of a couple sidequests), it’s just not funny. That being said, you could try the DLC which takes place in claptrap’s brain and thus doesn’t have any space australians.
I get what you’re saying about the floatiness, but I liked it as a gimmick with the air boosting.

You should try the Pre-Sequel! I feel like it further improved on the combat and each of the playable characters is awesome in their own way. At least at the top end, “ultimate vault hunter mode” or whatever it’s called, seemed more balanced in terms of enemy health instead of being reliant on priming every enemy with slag.
- Comment on Steam summer sale is on now! What games do you recommend? 4 months ago:
Vermintide 2. When life gets hard, you can count on the Ubersreik 5 to be harder
- Comment on Monthly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing? 4 months ago:
Thanks for the recommendation! I’m no purist so I’ll definitely download some mods for it

I was reading about Daggerfall Unity (I think it was on Lemmy probably) but I haven’t downloaded it yet. Has anyone tried it?
- Comment on Are there any good casual/low-stress mobile games that aren't filled with microtransactions? 4 months ago:
Admittedly I haven’t played it in, like, five years but when I did it only had banner ads in the pause menu

Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector. You put down furniture. Cats sleep on the furniture. You get gold to buy more funiture, and the cycle repeats.

- Comment on Baldur’s Gate 3 mod update will be Larian’s ‘final handover’ to players 5 months ago:
Makes sense, I have no doubt that they’re trying to separate themselves from WOTC. Your comment made me think Larian had been hamstrung but I feel like they’re at the top of their game.
- Comment on Baldur’s Gate 3 mod update will be Larian’s ‘final handover’ to players 5 months ago:
How so? Last I remember a lead dev for Larian was disappointed by layoffs happening in WOTC but there was no direct action
- Comment on Glorious Victory 6 months ago:
It means the two million people playing it now have to get emails, promotions, and keep sony products in their mind.
They obviously didn’t think it would be popular. Just like Wizards of the Coast when they tried to put out a new license that said “anything with the words ‘dungeons and dragons’ on it becomes our intellectual property”, they assumed that pissing off their entire fanbase would be net positive because people will keep buying their stuff no matter how bad it gets.

The review bombing was serious but I’d eat my hat if this stunt cut revenue by more than 10%. I don’t have anything for Helldivers but here’s an article about Dragons Dogma 2

The founding fathers really botched that one, should’ve been “the right to wield katanas and throw ninja stars at one’s oppressors” or whatever people were fighting with in the 17th century

because ‘a’ vs ‘an’ is dependant on the first sound not the first letter. For some reason the “yew” in uniform counts as a consonant.

because… the person I was replying to was talking about it? The intent was to be funny, I suppose.

Apple users get the option to “react” to messages, adding things like 💜 or 👍 to the message. Since it’s not natively supported by other messaging apps, those users get a message that looks like mine instead of an emoji.

Quick reminder for anyone looking for “skyrim 2”, this game will probably not rekindle the childlike wonder you had when playing ES:V. Do not hold expectations of any game until it has completely released (and all of the microtransactions are added, I guess).
