- Comment on Imagine if Amazon and all jobs out there were cooperatively owned? 7 hours ago:
The Behind the Bastards episode about him is really mind blowing. Like, he sucks way more than you could ever imagine. When I was in college, Amazon was the company that you could get used textbooks from. Now they’re the default web shopping platform.
- Comment on Atlassian terminates 150 staff with pre-recorded video, AI customer contact solutions rolled out 2 days ago:
Coincidentally enough, the company I work for hosts an in premises instance of all the Atlassian tools, and upon the latest upgrade we had a day long outage. Can’t help but wonder if this is related.

No. Shit.
- Comment on Why does technology create new problems for each one it solves? 1 week ago:
There’s a term in hardware design called Mean Time Before Failure or MTBF. Essentially it means that the more parts a system has in it, the quicker it will fail. I think the ever increasing complexity of software tends to follow the same pattern.

You mean 5’10” tall Ben Shapiro? The guy that never talks about his height and is actually 5’6”‽ The self confident alpha male? Yeah fuck this guy.

I won’t spoil it either, but I ended up doing ng 5+ before I wanted to start over and just enjoy it from scratch.

I’m on my third playthrough, and there’s just so much to do and see. I loved the main plot on my first playthrough because I was focused on it, but now I’m exploring so many other things.
Not to mention I got it on launch, and there have been so many QoL changes since then.

I legitimately love starfield. I thought the main story was amazing, but I’m a huge sci Fi nut.
- Comment on Now that PewDiePie is on his Linux/engineering arc, could he help boost the Fediverse? 1 month ago:
Fuck this guy. When I was growing up a group of skin heads infiltrated our local punk scene, even though they liked the same bands as the rest of us, we fucking ran them out of every show. Felix deserves zero praise for his recent moves.
Stop giving him your attention.

I’m not trying to be a 1-upper, but you need to also include the power the computer and CPU use as well. Not to mention the age of the outlet and how many times a plug has been inserted/removed from it. The contact resistance can be pretty bad depending on how old the outlet is.

Good luck plugging that into an outlet without tripping a fuse under load.
- Comment on New Cars Don't All Come With Dipsticks Anymore, Here's Why 2 months ago:
My wife has a 2016 Honda Odyssey, and having grown up working on cars because my dad was a mechanic, I was shocked to learn that there is no transmission fluid dip stick. It’s considered a closed system and never needs to have the fluid changed, allegedly.

- Comment on Nearly half of streaming subscriptions are for plans with ads 2 months ago:
Exactly this. We had a once in a generation chance to change how people watch TV and movies, and we fucked it up once again. We’re right back to paying for something with ads. Cable TV was better than broadcast back in the day because you could hear swears and see nudity, but suffer through ads for it.
