That doesn’t look terrible and you could definitely fill those in with come premixed concrete from your local hardware store. Just make sure to chip out any loose bits first.
Mold in basement is pretty common issue though because basements are always cooler from being underground. So investing in a dehumidifier would be as good idea, one that can drain out on it’s own ideally so you won’t have to empty it every other day.

Two 45 or 22 degree fittings like this and a new cap/coupling reducer.

This is wood right? If so, wood floor does expand/shrink a bit depending on temperature. It looks like maybe it wasn’t cut to the right size and needs to be shaved down ⅛-¼ inch to fit property.

Buy, Borrow, Die strategy.
-
Buy something that potentially increases in value (real estate, companies, stock etc)
-
Borrow money against the appreciated value of step 1, this borrowing in not taxable.
-
Die and leave assets to whoever and never pay tax on the assets.

I meant soldering/brazing directly to the shower valve. Which you can do when soldering, I’m no expert on brazing though.
- Comment on Brazing Copper Plumbing Pipe? 3 months ago:
Since brazing requires higher temps it could damage internal parts to things like shower valves.

Super glue your screwdriver to it or buy a screw extractor set maybe.

4x4 might be more trouble/overkill and money than it’s worth for something that only weighs 600lbs? I think you’d be able to get by with 2x4s (+plywood?)and some deck screwed.

What’s going in the middle? I think the easiest/best looking way to do this is to add some shelving at the bottom/middle and that could stabilize the two cabinets together. And if necessary add extra bracing in the back behind the cabinets.

Are you trying to stabilize the tunnel or the whole cabinets to each other? Or both the cabinets to the wall?

I live just outside this zone and I promise you it won’t. They still haven’t resumed normal time intervals for some trains from when they were reduced during covid lockdown. The mayor is to busy being investigated for taking bribes or posing for photos to fix anything.

Ahh, I see now. That all makes way more sense lol. Thanks for sharing.

If the power goes out you’d probably be better off using solar or a even gas. Maybe if you’re using water for something else anyways it makes sense but how much power can really be generated by turning a house on for a min? How much water is wasted?
- Comment on Building A Generator That Runs Off Hose Power 9 months ago:
I don’t think you’d get enough water pressure that way.
- Comment on Building A Generator That Runs Off Hose Power 9 months ago:
Tldr? Why would anyone do this? To what end?

I’ve never seen pex running into a house from the street/ground. It’s always been copper up to the water meter at the very least and it’s code (in NJ at least) to put grounding wire there.
