Yeah once I figured out what happened I did check the agreement and saw that I was completely at their whim with no recourse (MATE internet if anyone is curious). So at this point I’m shopping around ISPs that allow for a static routable IP, if anyone has any recommendations then let me know. Looking for 250/25 or better when it comes to speed

Just ran into my first issue with CGNAT last night when my Minecraft server stopped being contactable after my ISP moved me from a publicly routable IP to one behind CGNAT. I feel you wholeheartedly, imo if I want to host something, there shouldn’t be any higher barrier to entry than a simple port forward.

I can’t believe that “My Summer Car” isn’t on here, I feel like it fits the theme of amazing but slightly disturbing Finnish games
- Comment on Is it possible to use an Android device entirely as "black box" (without touching it looking at it)? 2 months ago:
I might be misunderstanding the question, so if you’re looking to make an existing android device you have work like this, please ignore the below.
Maybe a Google Nest Mini would do what you’re looking for? It’s definitely got the ability to be interacted with entirely verbally, but I guess the downside is a smaller selection of apps that do work with it (there is a list on the Google store of which apps it works with)
- Comment on Microsoft finally officially confirms it's killing Windows Control Panel sometime soon 5 months ago:
Currently the Settings app in windows doesn’t have the same level of features as the control panel does. It’s definitely got most features that normal users will need, but if you’re a power user or a system admin, you’ll quickly find yourself having to swap over to control panel to configure anything past the very basics for quite a few different parts of windows. This change will be fine if Microsoft achieve feature parity between settings and control panel, so that there’s no lost functionality when they get rid of control panel.
I think most people are a bit upset at the idea of the control panel disappearing because they don’t trust that Microsoft will end up reaching that feature parity, leaving people with less options to control their own devices effectively.
- Comment on I don't have AC but my apartment lease covers unlimited water usage and the water is very cold. How can I best use this to cool my home? 7 months ago:
You could try and make a DIY swamp cooler? There’s lots of instructions online for how to make them, and basically the only consumable is water. The only caveat is that they work by drawing hot air in from an open window to evaporate water, so it’s not very effective in high humidity or low temperatures.
