Sadly voting didn’t fail you. US is in the same predicament UK was in after Brexit. Complacency at the expected outcome, a belief that some people couldn’t be so stupid as to vote for Trump/Brexit and yet, they did in the majority.
Regardless of how fucked up the election process is, inany countries I’m not singling out the US, that is the reason that you feel failed, look at your countrymen that swallowed the snake oil and ask the question why?

5th Nov 2024 - was the chance to prevent this. Trump’s team made it clear on the direction they were heading and no-one heeded the warnings. 35% didn’t vote and the majority of those that did voted for him, which either means they agree with the direction or were deluded into thinking it wasn’t going to happen.
I’m all for protest but I don’t think you have a chance of changing anything, he owns the legislature and the voting public allowed it to happend.
I’m not American or a resident of US but that’s just my opinion as an outsider.

Whilst I agree the technology is awesome, £2,000 for a phone, wow, no thanks.

What especially galled me was as I was updating my laptop before flashing to Linux the new outlook will not work unless edge installed, I had just uninstalled that pile of garbage.
Ah well, at least pop_os works great 😃

Interestingly 28th Dec is el Día de los inocentes un Spain, they’re equivalent of April Fools, so it’s possible it’s that

Both great ideas but they’re not available to android auto, I’d need an alternative that can load in android auto
- Comment on Firefox for Android now supports over 450 add-ons 1 year ago:
My tablet is my laptop replacement so I tend to use it on the same way with a mouse and keyboard and want AC close to laptop functionality as possible, pretty much all other browsers have that functionality, except firefox.
- Comment on Firefox for Android now supports over 450 add-ons 1 year ago:
Yes as a bloated phone UI. It doesn’t support tabs which almost every other browser does.
Of course it can run in a tablet but it’s not a great use experience
- Comment on Firefox for Android now supports over 450 add-ons 1 year ago:
And yet still no tablet support 😭
- Comment on YouTube warns it might make your viewing experience worse if you don't turn off your ad-blocker 1 year ago:
They couldn’t possibly make the experience than it already is without an ad blocker.
No adblock = No youtube

Maybe also try making Firefox tablet compatible like almost every other browser.
Currently it’s just a bloated phone UI on tablet, it’s the one thing stopping me from using as my daily browser on mobile devices.
- Comment on Do you feel, as I do, that this adblocker ban by Youtube will harm all of Alphabet's companies? [discussion] 1 year ago:
YT Premium is not available in my location and, as yet, adblock still working fine.
When they catch up with my location I’ll use either revanced or LibreTube.
- Comment on Is there an effective way to remove trackers from apps? 1 year ago:
I use DNS ad/tracker blocking on android.
I use either libredns or MullvadDNS
- Comment on I have never seen an ad in the past 6 years. I use android phone, windows PC and Android TV. Keen to hear when was the last time you saw an AD ? 1 year ago:
On android Revanced is best option, or stream via website on a browser with adblock.
If you don’t care about the algorithm the NewPipe or LibreTube are great.
- Comment on Is anyone else getting server issues? 1 year ago:
Seem to be having a lot of timeouts recently.
At first I thought it was the app (Thunder) bit have the same lag on the website.
It seems to be very random and intermittent though.
- Comment on Meta Plans to Charge $14 a Month for Ad-Free Instagram or Facebook 1 year ago:
I think this will be aimed at mainly EU members after a law banning targeted advertising (without explicit consent) comes in which will mean a reduction in ad revenue to Meta, as a result they’re hoping to make up the shortfall by charging users for an ad-free version.
- Comment on Desalination system could produce freshwater that is cheaper than tap water 1 year ago:
Not from Israel but our entire water system is desalinated and I’ve never experienced any issue with the taste, in fact the opposite is true. Pure clean drinking water.
I will agree with the hardness aspect but other than that it’s perfectly good, i’ve tasted worse bottled mineral water.

No solution is perfect but could a DNS based solution with a privacy browser is as good as I can get on mobile devices without not connecting to the internet at all.
- Comment on Online Ads Can Infect Your Device with Spyware 1 year ago:
Or offload them at the DNS so they dont even get to the device in the first instance.
