Because they care about the value of the item, not what you paid for it.
Ahh, that makes sense! Thank you!

Not saying I’d do it. Just proposing a hypothetical.

So, I live right on the Canadian border. Right there.
If I went over to Canada, somebody gave me a bunch of product for free, then I took that product and gave it to someone else for free, would that be legal? No money was exchanged.
Let’s say the product was plushies. A large amount of them. What’s the legality of that?

I remember politely telling the guy at my local Family Video that “Watership Down” should probably be removed from the kid’s section. He scoffed at me and just gave me a “yeah… mkay.”
A few weeks later, I noticed it was gone. I commented on it to a different guy this time and he said “yeeeeah, the boss’ sister brought it home for her kids. It’s gone now. Like… actually gone.”
Childhood trauma could have been avoided with that one.
- Comment on What is anti-propaganda? 2 weeks ago:
I think there’s a disconnect here.
I also used to be a hardcore Christian and did the same thing. But the fact is, my own lived experience brought me out of it. No one could have sinply talked me out of my beliefs. It was literally all I knew. These were conclusions I had to come to on my own, because I was questioning them to begin with.
If I was not questioning the validity of it to start, I would not have looked for new amounts of information.
If people are not curious or open enough, they will stay in what they perceive to be their “truth”, with no amount of logic being able to sway them.
Basically, if they’re not searching for truth, presenting them with truth will not sway them.

No.
This is weird, horny roleplay.

Women are not a hivemind. They are individual people, with their own thoughts, hopes, dreams, feelings, and aspirations.
Maybe you should start by seeing women on an equal level as human beings, first and foremost.

- Comment on How effective would sanctions on US by the international community be? 4 weeks ago:
To encourage the revolt of the increasingly dissatisfied American public.
And for those who say “that’s not going to happen”, you do not speak for the rest of us. There is absolutely unrest. The news cycle does not reflect reality.
- Comment on How effective would sanctions on US by the international community be? 4 weeks ago:
Absolutely. He’s a puppet.
But I firmly believe that a bully that faces no consequences will continue to escalate.
Cut off the US. Support the people’s protesting. Trust me when I say that there is more opposition than ever. Even in my ultra-conservative town, the flags have disappeared. It’s getting… interesting.

All talk.
Been around plenty of disordered folks and he fits a very specific bill.
He’s chickenshit. Lotta threats but won’t follow through. His reputation is everything to him, but he will absolutely turn tail and run if he is challenged by a more powerful opponent. He will absolutely hold a grudge and try to get revenge in a “”“sneaky”“” way, but he’s still an absolute fucking idiot.

Sorry that it hurts your feelings to know that current Christian ideology is hateful and shitty.

I’m aware of what atheism is, thanks, sweetie.
Maybe don’t talk like you know what a “”“real Christian”“” is. I know what it is because I lived that life and am now stuck in a town where it’s the majority. Fuck your pussyfooting.
Sit down.
- Comment on i’m not religious. stop trying to force me to be. 1 month ago:
Might want to change the name of your religion then, because it’s been mainly overtaken by evil hateful people, and you’re not going to get it back.
- Comment on Is there a Lemmy equivalent of "r/bestofredditorupdates"? 1 month ago:
This is unfortunately why I don’t think the fediverse will thrive: the majority of folks on here are so privacy-focused, that many of them refuse to tell personal stories or antecedents.
It’s extremely unfortunate.
- Comment on Mid game review: Superliminal (2019) PS5 1 month ago:
Right?? I was spooked throughout the entire experience. Kept expecting something horrific to get me the whole time! Lol
So glad I finished it, though.
- Comment on Mid game review: Superliminal (2019) PS5 1 month ago:
If I may… I’d actually put this game at the top of my list for one of the best games of all time.
Is the game itself a masterpiece? No. Not necessarily. I feel it’s very flawed in many ways. And I’ve seen many people shit on it for “squandering its potential”, which I believe is nonsense.
However… I’m not sure most people understand, but if you go into it as a sufferer of PTSD… it becomes 1000 times more powerful.
I didn’t put the puzzle pieces together until recently, actually… but around the same time I finished the game… my nightmares stopped. Gone. I still get “bad dreams” from time to time, but no absolutely horrific nightmares like I used to.
DON’T GET ME WRONG, I AM PROBABLY A RARE CASE, AND I’M NOT SAYING THAT THIS GAME WILL “”““CURE””“” ANYTHING OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!! All I’m saying is that, for me, it made things… easier.
I love Superliminal. Think I always will. I’d strongly suggest that others play it, as well.

Standing out or drawing attention to yourself is frowned upon. The standard is to “grin and silently accept it” until it stops …which is what these men are counting on & why it is a prevalent problem in Japan. It’s absolutely fucked.
