Did Glassdoor somehow force users to use their real names on the site?

Used to love them but they’ve absolutely priced themselves out of a semi-regular customer lately. Those pasties are worth $10-12 at most. Not $18.

Microsoft ToDo or Zenkit Tasks. Neither are self hosted but they work perfectly with multiuser setups.

Not a problem. I only have decaf in the afternoon.
- Comment on Wi-Fi jamming to knock out cameras suspected in nine Minnesota burglaries -- smart security systems vulnerable as tech becomes cheaper and easier to acquire 8 months ago:
This is the reason that all of mine are hardwired (literally) through the roof. Obviously more timeconsuming to do but the signal is way more responsive than wifi (esp. when my wifi bandwidth drops due to giant periodic cloud backups or multi-gigabyte PS5 update file downloads) and I wanted to make sure that all of the video is shunted to cloud and local secure storage in whatever seconds it might take for an attacker to physically disable the camera. Dozen cables down and into my router and switch in the mancave but it is what it is.

Drinking hot drinks, like flavored coffee or hot milk with Milo or ovaltine or Dandy Blend. Morning, afternoon and night. I have to have a hot drink before bed. Have to have a hot coffee when working at the pc in the late morning or afternoon. Only really started maybe a year ago and I’m honestly not sure why.

Is there a reminder/alert system for due or soon-to-be-due tasks?
- Comment on It’s Surprisingly Easy to Live Without an Amazon Prime Subscription 9 months ago:
I’m really stingy when it comes to subscriptions and honestly paying for anything at all that I don’t have to. But the few things that I and the wife are happy to drop a dime on are Prime, Netflix and unlimited cable and cell data. I got the Verizon NF and Starz deal last year, 1 year for both for $74 and I watch NF constantly. Every day. I’d pay $20/month for it easily. Similarly I’m always buying shrapnel on Prime. I know I could live without it but it’s essential enough to us to warrant the outlay.

Yep. If you have Android just use Joplin.
- Comment on It's Time to Ditch Evernote for One of These Alternatives 10 months ago:
Not for free. You have to use Obsidian Sync (paid sub) for Android.
- Comment on It's Time to Ditch Evernote for One of These Alternatives 10 months ago:
Obsidian does offer end to end encryption as well, but you need to pay for their Sync offering. They have a good deal on it right now but I don’t need encryption so I just use the basic icloud functionality which works pretty well on iPhone, iPad and Windows. help.obsidian.md/…/Security+and+privacy

I use Windows on the desktop and iCloud works fine.

StandardNotes (I compared it to SimpleNote when I tested it months ago):
- Doesn’t support markdown without $ - simplenote does
- Doesn’t support checkboxes without $ - simplenote does
- Doesn’t even allow rich text without paying
- $119/year subscription
- Simplenote syncs faster
It calls itself FOSS but really, most of the important functionality is paid-only.
- Comment on It's Time to Ditch Evernote for One of These Alternatives 10 months ago:
It’s completely local if you want, and you absolutely don’t need to pay money for syncing. The entire app is absolutely free and fully functional. If you want free syncing you can either use iCloud, or else the RemotelySave plugin with something like Syncthing or Duplicati.

It was time to ditch Evernote YEARS ago. Obsidian is basically the best alternative.
