it would be amazing if they could just add a mobile ui to Smarttube Next (best android tv app imho) - it supports login, sponsorblock & dearrow, you can cast to it, etc. - and it’s updated constantly, via a prompt in the app, no external download or play store necessary

regarding your first question - they usually go after the big fish first. dbzer0 might still be flying under the radar, and also might be ina different jurisdiction where the specific plaintiff can’t go after them, or where it’s harder for them to do so

they are not even “in the middle” but rather “at the very end”, since they’re just getting the data directly from the service provider instead

how? my macbook pro is seven years old, and the latest macOS i could get is two major versions behind. I’ve tried installing linux and apparently it is a generation that is particularly troubled, with an endless list of broken things curated on github. eventually bad Bluetooth- and no internal audio-support was a showstopper to keep using it

debrid is basically “cloud torrenting”, a server torrents the files and you download them from there. extremely useful if you live in a jurisdiction where p2p filesharing is illegal.
stremio is a netflix-like video player app, torrentio an addon that let’s you crawl torrent sites and stream stuff via debrid.
- Comment on AppleTV complete replacement opinions 11 months ago:
my go-to setup is
- chromecast with googletv 4k
- alldebrid membership (€3 a month)
- stremio app + torrentio addon

you can’t ask for feedback, then attack everyone who doesn’t share your opinion with “did you read it?”, that’s not cool…
