- Comment on After GOTY pull, Clair Obscur devs draw line in sand: 'Everything will be made by humans by us' 1 week ago:
I hate AI with a passion. A burning passion. And there is some muddied reporting and stuff with how the Clair Obscure team handled the use of AI but ultimately it does look to be an innocent use.
It does start a slippery slope argument, but I don’t see much wrong with using AI generated textures or models if they are. Truly truly 100% meant to be replaced by the product ship date. There are many video games that start out with stolen ripped assets as placeholders because it’s a whole lot easier to throw in completed assets that work right now so you can get to your iterative phase of game development a lot sooner.
During game development, there is a lot of wasted effort you need to try to avoid. A game is not fully complete when it is planned out. When you start video game development, you don’t know where you’re going to end. If you do not approach the iterative process of game design carefully, you will end up wasting tons of effort and artist time just for things and features and levels that will never see the final release.
Tldr; I don’t see a big problem with using AI as placeholders but you better fucking be honest about it and they better actually be placeholders

- Comment on AI-generated code contains more bugs and errors than human output 1 week ago:
It’s not even good for words. AI just writes the same stories over and over and over and over and over and over. I’d argue the best and only real use for an llm is to help be a rough draft editor and correct punctuation and grammar. We’ve gone way way way too far with the scope of what it’s actually capable of
- Comment on AI-generated code contains more bugs and errors than human output 1 week ago:
That’s not a bad idea. I’m already downloading lots of human knowledge and media that I want backed up because I can’t trust humanity anymore to have it available anymore
- Comment on AI-generated code contains more bugs and errors than human output 1 week ago:
Ai is literally just copy pasting. Like if you think about AI as a control C control V machine, it makes sense. You wouldn’t trust a single fucking junior Dev that didn’t actually know what a code but just Ctrl C control V from stack overflow for literally every single line of code. That’s all fucking AI is
- Comment on RAM and SSD prices are still climbing—here’s our best advice for PC builders 1 week ago:
I built my PC in 2019 right at the end of the yearcand I thank the gods everyday. I’ve only done one CPU upgrade since and it’s still great for 1440p gaming.

I’m not trying to brag by saying this but I’m pretty attractive and if I wanted to get laid tomorrow I’d probably have no issue. But it’s like having access to infinite candy, I don’t think getting laid all the time without real human connection is healthy. So I uhh sort of don’t have sex either unless I have a real connection and it can take a while to find that. It makes it special again.

You’re drinking all the Microsoft Kool-Aid that the lawyers in paid bots have thrown out there on the internet. Valve has threatened the market dominance of large tech companies and there’s been a ton of negative press pushed for them lately.
There’s lots of platforms to release your game online Minecraft famously ditched steam and it’s one of the largest games of all time.
You can self-publish as a solo Dev and make one of the largest games of all time without steam. Tell me how that’s a monopoly.
You got fortnite out here on the epic game store. Also one of the largest games of all time no steam, no valve. Tell me that’s a monopoly.
You’ve got itch.io, Gog, Microsoft game store, epic game store, and there’s always the option to skip the PC market and go straight to Indy’s on consoles if you wanted. You have choices as a developer. Steam is just simply the best fucking one.
- Comment on They even do Price Discrimination on video games now 1 month ago:
Both. Steam is already the market leader in its industry. You just keep doing what you’re doing and you win.

Boys can’t do a thing unless they can look cool?
There’s a big push in media representation that scientific girls are nerdy and not focused on their looks. Having that opposite representation that scientists can be pretty too is important. It shows that girls who are focused on their looks can totally be smart too. This was the entire plot of legally blonde.

3D artists can specialize in topology where they make sure to clean up the models that other artists sculpt to optimize them for animation and performance. Depending on the use case you need different approaches to a models topology and it can get very complex actually. So yeah, it is people’s entire jobs to do this and they probably get paid more than us.
