Steam itself still asked your age before verifying any purchase. This is a parenting problem

Which can’t be purchased with steam points. What’s your point?
- Comment on "Valve does not cooperate with gambling sites" - Counter-Strike publishers issue rare public defence of lootbox mechanics, following New York lawsuit 20 hours ago:
They aren’t supporting children gambling. They ask you your age before you buy these games and before you put in any payment information into steam. It’s not verified with an ID or anything but that is a whole nother can of worms in computing that will open up a box. We do not want to open for our privacy rights.
The solution here is more parenting. The solution here is to go after gambling culture as a whole. The solution here is to take down polymarket. The solution here is to not make it so the gambling is the main fucking commercial during our super bowl halftime.

The thing you’re all fucking missing is no you can’t sell the in-game items for real money through the service. Steam money isn’t real money. It can’t go back into a normal economy. You always have to sell your inventory through a third party.
This whole lawsuit this whole thing is to try to get age verification checks through steam to lock down our privacy rights. You’re all fucking blind

This isn’t a defense of lootbox mechanics. This is a defense of their company from this lawsuit. Don’t fall for this propaganda

You know what’s funny is the story happened that way, not because it was the only way it could happen. They originally had Jesse pinkman’s death planned for the end of season 1 he was supposed to be killed by Walt. But he ended up being a fan favorite character and they kept him on.
- Comment on Breaking: BAD 3 days ago:
Jesse’s supposed to get completely dipshit-headed but he has a complete redemption by the end in my opinion
- Comment on Is there a game that combines Civ with Sims? 5 days ago:
Rimworld is a game that you get to play in the way you want to play. It allows you to choose the pace of your game and the difficulty. You won’t ever be able to turn off combat, but you can make it less of a problem.
- Comment on Is there a game that combines Civ with Sims? 5 days ago:
Yes this is literally just rimworld

I’ve only ever had one Seagate drive in my life and it failed in the first 3 months.
- Comment on They're calling it the Trump Laptop. Highest quality. So affordable. We're making technology great again, folks. 6 days ago:
That was a bug. You weren’t supposed to see that it’s running an Ubuntu back end. See this is their “new proprietary” AI Trump OS that totally isn’t just a copy pasted Linux distro. That’ll be $500 for the licensing fee please.

Everything is animated, but it’s all snappier and more responsive somehow than the first game

It’s really hard to improve on perfection. In this case they did it.

I think Xbox is shutting its console skin to compete directly with the PC market. Head-to-head.

Honestly, unless you’re a huge League of Legends fan, just do it.
- Comment on Pornography depicting sexual relationships between step-relatives set to be banned 1 week ago:
It turns out this isn’t a censorship ban or anything of the sort. The UK prime ministers are just tired of the unoriginality.
- Comment on Let's take a moment to remember the time period when everyone had to adjust to using dual-joysticks on controllers. 4 weeks ago:
I implore everybody to play the classic GoldenEye with dual controller setup in the menu so you can do twin stick shooting controls. If you use an emulator, you can bind two controllers to one controller and play GoldenEye in a way you’ve never played it before.
The combination of the animations and precision aiming with the twin stick shooting turns you into a demon. It’s so cinematic to quickly strafe a corner and then unload your gun just like into a horde of enemies and see them all fucking jump in different directions as they die it’s perfect.

Ai failed and now they are doing this to capture the compute market to then make their profit back through unscrupulous means.

Nah, it was a nice ceiling for sure, but it was adding too much of a warm tone to the bathroom. The cooler tone overall is a lot nicer to look at.

You see it happen over a course of 5 years or so. A community posts jokes with poor taste as satire but slowly and surely the people who are posting the jokes are people who are posting them seriously and they’re still getting upvotes and support because of the way th community views the jokes as “positive” slowly the people who aren’t for those jokes leave because its not clear if we’re joking anymore. All that’s left are the people who post the satire seriously.
- Comment on 2 months ago:
They aren’t even saying this is edgy in fact they like the meme. They’re just telling and informing us about the slippery slope that this sort of meme can give if a community isn’t aware of themselves. As an elder millennial on the internet, I agree with this sentiment that we should be careful with what kind of views and humor we share with each other. It should always be explicit that these jokes are jokes and not representative of the actual views of the community. Satire needs to remain satire

this just in the next generation of video games will play themselves. Due to rising costs though play time for most run-throughs will top out at about 90 minutes.
