- Comment on is there a trustworthy SMS MMS app for Android that's not Google? 3 months ago:
Honestly, SMS in signal turned out problematic for me. One of my contacts had uninstalled Signal, yet any SMSs I sent him would default to Signal messages and were never delivered.
- Comment on Why are people downvoting the MediaBiasFactChecker not? 3 months ago:
I’ve downvoted it on articles where political bias is completely irrelevant.

Alba: A Wildlife Adventure
It’s perhaps a bit child-oriented, but is pretty fun, chill, and you can’t do more “summer vacation” than that.

I don’t know if I had to do anything special for the prompt, but it just gave me a short summary starting with “Unfortunately I cannot provide the full text of the article you requested, as that would likely infringe on the copyright of the content. However, I can summarize the key points from the article.”

Now I have to go try it, so that I can go through this arricle’s paywall.

I believe the actual show starts from the 7th file in the list (the first ones are interviews and other such things that happened later)

Well, that’s good too, but if you’re listening to audio, might as well listen to a full cast.

Looks like the web archive is down for me atm. As long as you can hear multiple voice actors and sound effects, you’re at the right place.

In China, “How much do you make?” Is right up there with “What’s your name?”.

“Monotonic lines” is an improved version of Monotonic, and has been the default for a few versions now, if I’m not mistaken.

I was aware of that, but had imagined that newer machines would have slowly migrated to something else. I’m also always astonished by the fact these are running full OSes.

Yes. I would need to increase the weight on the pen too, though.

Ah yes, different sized pulleys would work the same as the gear train I had in mind. Thanks for the explanation!

I still feel the distance they travel will stay the same. Except if I use a gear train.
- Comment on Elegoo Neptune 3 no longer turns on 8 months ago:
Well, there is a reason I was trying to get rid of that printer 😅. The school had two Creality CR-5S that were donated from a Chinese university. You won’t find anything about them online (except for one YouTube video describing how terrible they are). Not sure how much of a gift it was to the student.
- Comment on Elegoo Neptune 3 no longer turns on 8 months ago:
So, I’ve had something similar happen to a creality printer, which was just the excuse I needed to bench it. I gave it to a student later, he plugged it in and it just …worked.
So my first reflex would be to tell you to unplug it and hold the power button, to empty any residual charges/memory.

Nice! Can’t take all the credit for mine, most of the work was done by Dan for the Makelangelo.

Maybe a printer that adds Morse code on a string.
- Comment on Made a polargraph with leftover parts from a Prusa i3 MK3.9 upgrade 8 months ago:
Hmmm, only if a second pulley was higher than the motor, I imagine.

It can go further than that, i just limited it to a smaller size for my first real test. I told the software that I was drawing on an A1 sized paper. Drawing this across the full board would have taken forever.
There are a couple of no-go zones close to the corners. Longer belts would allow it to go lower, but then the counterweights would hit the floor when going up high and limit the drawing area there instead.
