- Comment on Farage will roll back gun laws and turn Britain into Trump’s America, Ed Davey claims 1 week ago:
A lot of the farming and hunting community are annoyed at the current state of gun laws. People who do actually use the limited range of guns in the UK for legitimate uses have to wade through paperwork, fees, wasted time and inconsistent rules to continue owning a gun. It’s also hard to be sure that you are actually complying with the law, because it’s so inconsistently applied to people.
For those that care about gun ownership, “cutting the red tape” is an easy win. Cutting the red tape and not making a complete hash of it all, that is going to be hard.
- Comment on Meat from EU set to be cheaper as UK axes new border checks in Brexit reset 1 month ago:
Lol … Brexit success
All the rules from Brussels. None of the say. UK farmers backed themselves into a losing corner, yet again. Or left out to hang, depending on your viewpoint. Either way, they’re taking another one for the team.
Profits for major supermarkets set to rise, yet again at the expense of decent and local.
Import v local. The green lobby loses that one too.
Politics is fun, you can always make the argument you won or lost.
- Comment on Half-a-million members sign up to new left-wing party founded in Britain 1 month ago:
The greens have shot themselves in the foot with my by strongly opposing nuclear power. It is not a tenable stance to take in a green economy. In my opinion anyway.
- Comment on UK pornography taskforce to propose banning ‘barely legal’ content after Channel 4 documentary airs 1 month ago:
you’re gonna need some evidence of intention
We have a legal age of 18. Some people make porn that is “barely legal”. The intention is to make that illegal. The evidence is in the article.
- Comment on Ninja sword owners will be paid to surrender weapons before ban 5 months ago:
Performance art.
Anything in the UK carried for the intent to harm another person is a weapon. I do lots of low impact woodland/forest work. Axes, saws etc. in my bag. If I carried them to a Birmingham park to murder someone they would be weapons and not allowed. If I carry them into a woodland I have a contract to manage, they are tools and allowed.
These extra rules/laws don’t change the above. The swords could still have been outlawed as weapons by the legal system.
But… doing this means the perl clutches can sleep easy knowing “something is being done”
