I think this is the wrong take. If we want Lemmy to be truly community-controlled, we need many small servers, as opposed to the current situation of one server controlling half the userbase. Also, which server is Facebook-controlled? Lemmy.world is in the minority by federating with Threads.

What does lemmy.world being the biggest have to do with any of this?

Well, kind of. The time dimension is a bit tricky, though – in Minkowsky space, a common way to think about spacetime, it is hyperbolic in relation to the other dimensions. In a nutshell, this means that distance is not the square root of the sum of the squares of the distances in specific dimensions, but rather of the difference. This makes it especially tricky to visualise. (I do recommend you check out this series by minutephysics)
My analogy, therefore, doesn’t translate directly to spacetime, but it does provide an explanation for why straight things can act curved.

It is straight in reference to the distorted spacetime.

It was a joke – it behaves as a wave until you observe it; then it collapses into a particle.

Well that’s just a theory, albeit good, and there’s a good chunk of modern science that refuses to marry it, so let’s not be so sure about it, shall we?

Massless light is still affected by gravity, though…

I can’t tell if this is about it being temporary in the sense of it being gone when he’s dead or whether it is about him (eventually) dying after having got a tattoo.

Well akshually...
…what is measured is the average kinetic energy (mass times speed squared divided by two), so if you multiply by two times the Boltzmann constant divided by the particle’s mass and take the square root, yes, you do get the particle speed (assuming all the particles have the same mass and speed, which they don’t lol) nice meme tho

As a rule, when speculating etymological relations, always look at the spelling rather that the pronunciation, since the latter tends to change a lot more quickly. English, of course, is an extreme case of this; during the Great Vowel Shift spellings stayed much the same while most vowels changed to the point of becoming unrecognisable. This is why English spelling makes no sense.

Remember to always provide context when describing pronunciation in English. The letter u may be realised /jʉw/ (“use”), /ʉw/ (“rule”), /ɵ/ (“put”) and /ʌ/ (“cut”), of which only the last one is a valid approximation.

I’d say roughly 1,000 to 100,000, depending on format.
