  Run the program. You should start out with Download highlighted at the top. Put in your Lemmy instance and credentials where it asks. Hit the Download button, which will download a JSON file - it’ll pull stuff like subscriptions from your Lemmy account. At the top, tab over to Upload. Put in the new instance and credentials, and hit Upload. It should pull the JSON file it created when you downloaded and “set up” your new account you’re migrating to. You’ll still need to go in and adjust some things, but your subscriptions (for example) should be there.

  There was a user that posted a tool they had already been working on, that worked in Python, to go through and automate detection/deletion of potential CSAM on Lemmy servers that admins could implement until better tools come along. Unfortunately, I don’t remember who posted it or where I saw it in my travels yesterday.

  I’ve made edits and deletes, and as far as I can tell, once the instances sync up, those edits/deletes are synced as well - I have noticed a delay, but it usually kicks in like overnight (for example) when I make a change to my account on lemm.ee for lemmy.world to see it, etc.

  I’m really looking forward to Sea of Stars. I’m not even big on turn-based RPGs, save a few exceptions, but it’s really speaking to me. Not sure if it scratches a nostalgia itch or if it’s the gorgeous art style, but I’m into it.

  Lemmy Account Settings Instance Migrator

  It’s a tool that basically just allows you to download a list of communities you’re subscribed to, which is good to have as a backup if your instance ever goes down.

  There’s also an upload option for if you make a new account someplace else, which can take that backup of your communities and subscribe the new account to all of them automatically, rather than starting from scratch.

  You can, sort of. Use LASIM to download your subbed communities next time lemmy.world is up. Make a new account on another instance. Upload your communities with LASIM.

  Unfortunately, posts/comments don’t go - but you can do like me and just leave a trail between your accounts (if you care enough). I just link to my old account in the bio of each new one I make.

  That’s why I created this lemm.ee account. It seemed silly just waiting for lemmy.world to come back up all the time. That’s the beauty of the Fediverse. 😁
