- Comment on New largest prime number discovered by former Nvidia software engineer 4 weeks ago:
If you want it to be useful for the economy and industry in order to warrant funding, I’ve got news for you:
The majority of modern encryption relies on prime numbers. It is currently speculated but not known, that the number of prime numbers is infinite.
Should it be proven, that there are only a finite amount of prime numbers, all encryption would become vulnerable.

Imagine one person holding up a pillar of stone, the base area of the person’s width, and higher then one man. So maybe 50cm X 50cm X 300cm of solid stone. That’s more than double the weight of the person itself, probably more than 5 times.

Firstly, sorry, I’m commenting as a person who doesn’t have ADHD (that I know of). But I always feel a certain way when people in general say, that there’s nothing to do. Now, I don’t know in which capacity ADHD affects you in creating or finding things to do. But I feel like, there could always be something to do.
Here are a few examples:
- make a wreath out of flowers
- practice your handstand
- guess cloud shapes
- take a plunge in the lake
- let flower petals float on the lake
- built one of those stone towers that hikers always do
Or honestly, hiking back sounds like a good idea. Half an hour is an acceptable amount of time to stay at the peak/ any resting spot.

That would be implying that only learning about battles is “learning about the 2nd ww”. And it would deny that learning about society, policy and civilian suffering is part of learning about the war.
I disagree with that.

I first ate avocado in ~2007 when my grandparents from the silent generation brought some back from their visit to Bolivia. So I can say I ate it before it was cool (in Europe).
- Comment on Instead of only voting for one candidate we should be able to upvote or downvote each candidate 10 months ago:
In the epilogue she says we haven’t tested scoring methods.
But in my local county council elections we had something to that degree. Every candidate (multiple candidates per party and independents) had three boxes. And every elector had 12 or 20 or something crosses to distribute. So you could give 3, 2, 1 or 0 crosses to a candidate.
Maybe the difference is, that didn’t yield a single winner but elected members of the council.
Which is also a much more glaring issue with fptp systems: not the race for president, but the fact that there are only 2 parties in parliament.
