I’m sad every day that Google Play Music is gone.

A lot of people will just be paying for 0patch for a while, I’m sure. The remainder will just not patch at all and hope for the best.

It feels like screaming into the void on Lemmy, but until there is official support for peripherals I use every single day (looking at you stream deck and GoXLR) I will likely never switch to Linux as my only OS. Dual boot on different drives on the other hand…

I misread system wide as network wide. My mistake.

Flashing ESPhome devices. I just had to re-flash one via serial the other day and it requires chrome AFAIK.

porque no los dos? I use both and there are things uBlock can catch/block that AdGuard doesn’t seem to be able to. That said AdGuard makes mobile pages readable, when most these days are a complete nightmare of ads

- Comment on Why do phone manufacturers use in-display fingerprint readers instead of fingerprint readers on the power button? 1 month ago:
You could also swipe down on the reader to bring down the notification tray, I miss that fingerprint reader every day.
- Comment on Netflix Doc ‘What Jennifer Did’ Uses AI Images to Create False Historical Record 6 months ago:
I’m not sure if you meant to reply to me, but that’s what I have been saying, if it says it’s a rendering, I don’t see how it’s different.
- Comment on Netflix Doc ‘What Jennifer Did’ Uses AI Images to Create False Historical Record 6 months ago:
Documentaries have had drawings, with a disclaimer that it is an artist rendering, for as long as I can remember. Or what about when they hire actors to do a “dramatization” of what happened, how is this different?
The quote above is in my first post in this thread. And to say a human can’t render as well as a machine, is arguable, but that isn’t what this is about.
So again, if people are told that it’s a rendering, regardless of who or what rendered it, what is the issue, and should all past documentaries with human renderings/reenactments not be called documentaries?
- Comment on Netflix Doc ‘What Jennifer Did’ Uses AI Images to Create False Historical Record 6 months ago:
Again, how is this different from an artist rendering? There’s been artists creating digital media for documentaries for a long long time.
- Comment on Netflix Doc ‘What Jennifer Did’ Uses AI Images to Create False Historical Record 6 months ago:
Just to play devil’s advocate, does that mean any “artist rendering” shouldn’t be in a documentary? Documentaries have had drawings, with a disclaimer that it is an artist rendering, for as long as I can remember. Or what about when they hire actors to do a “dramatization” of what happened, how is this different?
- Comment on Helldivers 2 devs apologise for trolly responses to player complaints about gun balancing 8 months ago:
I think the real problem is guns got nerfed and at the same time, environmental hazards were introduced. I saw 3-4 reinforcements going to people hit by meteors. I think people will get used to it, but right now it’s kind of fun how it feels like early dives again, just utter chaos.
- Comment on Helldivers 2 devs apologise for trolly responses to player complaints about gun balancing 8 months ago:
I keep hearing that, but I’ve not had luck with it as of yet. I need a few more dives to get the mechanics down, I think.
- Comment on Wyze says camera breach let 13,000 customers briefly see into other people’s homes 8 months ago:
Don’t forget cost, I’m working on replacing mine, but a 30 dollar camera now being replaced by ones that cost around 100 each is just taking time. The ones I have outdoors I don’t really care about, but I’m working hard to replace all the indoor ones. For now all my indoor wyze cameras are on zigbee plugs that cut power when we’re home.
- Comment on Passkeys might really kill passwords 8 months ago:
Depends on where the line is as far as evil goes. Most of the popular password managers are now starting to support passkey login.

- Comment on What should I use my RPi4 9 months ago:
I ran HA on mine for a while before I moved it to a VM. Right now I’m using my Pi as a secondary wireguard VPN in case my primary is down for some reason.
Also, quick tip, I found that ikea zigbee bulbs work really well but have really bad coil whine when off, don’t use them for bedside lighting.

Mine is $30/mo for unlimited (on top of my plan cost) with my own modem.
Luckily there’s a few FTTH companies that are almost done laying fiber in my area. I’m finally giving comcast the boot.
