You don’t need to produce for profit, you can produce for use. Society can be organized in such a manner without having portions of society dedicated to brainwashing the masses into being consumers of useless goods like party favors for the sake of fat cats getting richer.

You can continue to pretend I haven’t thought of any of this and continue to talk down to me as you build a larger and larger strawman, it’s pretty funny.
- Comment on Who wouldn't want to finance warm cardboard? 1 year ago:
Nope, but you’re free to continue building a strawman.
- Comment on Who wouldn't want to finance warm cardboard? 1 year ago:
Profit is producing to sell goods in a positive feedback loop for more money. You don’t need to have profit.

Do you think systems built upon class hierarchy are resistant to corruption?
- Comment on Who wouldn't want to finance warm cardboard? 1 year ago:
You can restructure society to not require profit. The economy exists currently purely to increase consumption and thus profit, rather than to fulfill uses.
- Comment on Who wouldn't want to finance warm cardboard? 1 year ago:
Capitalism itself is corrupt, lol. Any class-based system will be.
- Comment on Who wouldn't want to finance warm cardboard? 1 year ago:
So you’re one of those delusional “not real Capitalism” people? Real Capitalism hasn’t been tried yet, amiright?
- Comment on Who wouldn't want to finance warm cardboard? 1 year ago:
That’s Capitalism at work, lol

What kind of instance is lemm.ee trying to be? One for as many people as possible, one to appeal to a niche of people, or somewhere in the middle? I joined because I thought it was more of a generalist instance a la the first example, but if it’s trying to meet somewhere in the middle or towards a niche, I don’t think it’s serving the purpose I signed up for, so I would rather find a new instance that doesn’t defederate so easily.

OLEDs can get damn close.

Lighting mods are always nice after they get good. It’s amazing how drastically lightweight mods can visually transform Bethesda games like New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Skyrim.
- Comment on What have you guys *not* seen yet that you hope is in the game? 1 year ago:
Will Shen, the lead for Far Harbor, is the lead Quest Designer. I actually have a decent amount of hope based on that, and that he’s stated that they specifically pulled inspiration from their older games specifically.

I think it’s more of an Imperialist pseudo-democracy, where only “citizens” can vote, but “citizenship” is fairly exclusive.
As for the FC, I think it’s more Libertarian, but not necessarily American Libertarianism, more anti-authority pro-community.

Interesting quest design that reinforces roleplaying. That would be absolutely huge for me.

Seems like the UC is unquestionably evil, which is fun.

Then there’s Age of Sigmar and you have full fantasy worlds within a broader sci-fi universe
