  My mother took my father’s surname and kept her maiden name as a second middle name, then they named their children the same way. That ended up being the smoothest way to handle it for official documents.

  The issue with steam group chat is that discord has existed longer and has incumbency. My friend group tried it out some time ago and the features are all there, the issue was getting people adjacent to our group to bother. We keep it as a backup though.
